The ‘NCIS’ and 'That 70s Show' star Wilmer Valderrama is all ready with his toolbox to gift a special garage makeover to his longtime friend and former security guard Tadao Salima.
And for the daunting task, the Hollywood A-lister will enlist the ‘Property Brothers’ twins, Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott, to help him turn into an interior designer and renovation specialist for a few weeks. The Hollywood actor follows a long list of celebrities, such as Kate Hudson, Cindy Crawford, and Cheryl Hines, who have used the opportunity to give back to someone to whom they are grateful. As mentioned, Tadao once worked for Wilmer as his security guard, and the pair entered into a lifelong friendship. In fact, their friendship goes back over 20 years, and Wilmer claims to be grateful for that. According to the actor, Tadao has been like an older brother and guardian angel throughout his career and helped him through some tough times. “I leaned on him a lot through the ups and downs in my career,” the A-lister says about their relationship in the episode.
After working as Wilmer’s security guard, Tadao decided to open his own venture. He now serves as the CEO of the agency AUMAGA Inc a “platform and company that works to provide security industry jobs, opportunities, and resources for the Polynesian communities.” According to the website, the company provides a “quick reaction and readiness force for large venues, events, and private persons that require quality control professionals, safety ambassadors, to help with de-escalation, support in house staff, evacuations, and reduction in force support, and removal of unruly people.” Apart from his professional platform, Tadao, who is an active part of the Polynesian community, hosts several events centering around the community throughout the year.
Over the past several years, Tadao has had to face the deaths of several loved ones between 2020 and 2022 due to illnesses, and it has indeed been a trying time for the security professional. Tadao faced the death of his sister from Cancer, while his father died only days short of his seventy-third birthday. But through thick and thin, Tadao and Wilmer’s friendship has remained strong. To show his gratitude for his friend, the Hollywood starlet has arranged to surprise Tadao with a stunning renovation. Wilmer’s garage upgrade for his friend will feature a sleek kitchenette, two Murphy beds, a cozy living room space with a state-of-the-art TV lift, and a Polynesian-inspired bathroom with a teak vanity. The renovation will make Tadao's old garage into an upgraded space for his family and guests to work, play and stay.
