'Celebrity IOU': Brad Pitt gets labeled a 'self-serving narcissist' after he fails to impress fans

"Sorry... why did it take a hgtv special to do something like this when these people are filthy rich Imagine how many years she could have enjoyed this if brad pitt really cared," a fan commented

HGTV has introduced a brand new show -- 'Celebrity IOU' -- that has fans hooked already. The format is simple and the idea is to improve lives through design. Each episode, a celebrity will collaborate with the 'Property Brothers' -- Drew and Jonathan Scott -- to gift a new, upgraded space to someoe who means a lot to them.

The premiere episode starred Brad Pitt and obviously everyone's losing it, but there's a section that thinks the star could have done this solo, given the resources at his disposal and also how invested he has been in design and construction.

Brad wanted to spruce up his friend-and-make-up artist Jean Black's garage space into a workspace oasis. The 'Fight Club' star wanted storage space, work station, storage unit, and more in the 400 sqft space. The Scott brothers were startled at first, but they gave the star more than he asked for and that too in three weeks.

By the deadline the garage space was extended by a couple of feet, with a cozy patio, a large peninsula that doubled up as a dining area and a makeup bay complete with a remote-controlled illuminated pop-mirror. They also installed a Murphy bed that changes the living space into a bedroom. In a nutshell, it was all Jean wanted for over a decade and more. And Brad was happy to make her happy.

But fans have a different take on it.

"All I can think is if these celebrities really cared for these "special people" they could have done this with their millions instead of using this show for self-promotion. Hard pass," a fan rejected the show, while another commented: "No. Just being honest. No fan of most of these self-serving narcissists."

"Sorry... why did it take a hgtv special to do something like this when these people are filthy rich Imagine how many years she could have enjoyed this if brad pitt really cared," another user pointed out.

"Ok so obviously it’s a *show* but why does Brad need the brothers? Couldn’t he have sorted this on his own? Like hire and pay his own contractors? #CelebIOU #celebrityIOU #propertybrothers," a viewer asked.
