CBS is off to possibly one of the best starts with its latest horror drama 'Evil' but five absolutely spectacular episodes later, the show decided to take its week off. On a sad note, 'Evil' is not airing on Halloween night. While we can't really complain considering the show did give us a Halloween episode titled 'October 31' last Friday, it's a little unwelcome that 'Evil' would choose to take its break on Halloween night itself, which very conveniently had lined up with its Thursday, 10 pm slot. But worry not, we have all the answers to your questions regarding why you will have to wait for a full week for the next episode.
For one, it's CBS - the network airing the World Games series live. CBS has decided to allow its shows for the week to take a designated break, including shows like 'NCIS', 'NCIS: New Orleans' and 'The Good Doctor'. This is primarily to void a clash between viewers who are more inclined to watch the game tonight than tune into network television for some Halloween night thrill. And speaking of the holiday, there's no chance anybody interested in all things spooky will stay back home and watch TV, right? It's Halloween, come on. It makes sense why CBS and 'Evil' would choose to be off tonight.
The thing with most network shows is that they run for a 39-week season, with 20 to 24 episodes each time. To stretch out those episodes through a bigger number of weeks, shows often take random breaks out of their designated mid-season break, which happens during the festival season through December and January. With 'Evil' premiering just a little over a month ago, this looks like the smartest time to stay off air and who knows, its fans and viewers might have just been teased enough to cause a higher turnout next week!
In the upcoming episode 6, titled '790', we get to see the action unfold, "When Kristen, David, and Ben are asked to assess the veracity of a local prophetess, they are shaken when they see one of her visions come to life; David struggles with jealousy when he sees God speaking with the prophetess."
'Evil' episode 6 will air on Thursday, November 7, at 10 pm, only on CBS.
