After two glorious seasons of killing vampires, Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) is all set to return for a brand new season of Netflix's 'Castlevania'. The adult animated series follows the adventures of a group of monster hunters as they try to rid the nation of Wallachia of the scourge of vampires.

Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.

Release Date

'Castlevania' Season 3 is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on March 5.

What happened in Season 2?

Season 2 covered Alucard (James Callis), Sypha (Alejandra Reynoso), and Trevor's war against Alucard's father Dracula (Graham McTavish) and his minions. By the end of the season, Dracula is killed and Alucard takes residence in his father's castle, with Trevor and Sypha setting off in search of new adventures and leaving the Belmont library in Alucard's care.

However, the vampire Carmilla (Jaime Murray) has survived and she's enslaved the forgemaster Hector (Theo James), determined to use his powers to help her fill the power vacuum left by Dracula's death. Meanwhile, Dracula's other forgemaster Isaac (Adetokumboh M'Cormack) is also out in the world and he's putting together his own undead army, one unlucky victim at a time.

Plot

With the vampire war over, the new season will be split into a number of separate plotlines, one following Belmont and Sypha, another about Alucard's life post his father's death, and one following Isaac as he tries to free Hector from Carmilla's control, probably so they can either take over the world or resurrect Dracula to do the same.

Here's the official synopsis for the upcoming season: "Belmont and Sypha settle into a village with sinister secrets, Alucard mentors a pair of admirers, and Isaac embarks on a quest to locate Hector."

Trailer

A trailer for the upcoming season was released on February 14 and right from the start, it shows a crop of strange new monsters that are attacking Wallachia. The clip teases a new war against Carmilla and her legions and also suggests that Sypha and Belmont may have gotten a lot deadlier since last we saw them, combining their abilities to create powerful new attacks. Their enemies have never been more dangerous but luckily, our heroes seem to be much more powerful than ever before.
