The auditions of 'American Idol' Season 19 were in full swing during Episode 2 as judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Riche spotted a fresh talent from the lot. We saw a 16-year-old (she was just 15 during the time of virtual audition in November 2020) leaving the trio absolutely mesmerized with her performance.

The young lady named Casey Bishop crooned Motley Crue sang 'Live Wire’ and got a tremendous response from the judges. However, Katy Perry also wanted the teenager to sing a different song as she was looking for something with a bit more soul. Bishop happily obliged and sang ‘My Funny Valentine’ leaving Perry thoroughly impressed. Equally stunned, Luke Bryan felt she is a massive star and is definitely going to be the winner of the current season.

Who is Casey Bishop?

Casey Bishop is a sophomore at The Center for the Arts at Cypress Lake High School and her ultimate goal is to become a rock ‘n’ roll singer. After her audition, Luke Bryan had a few good words in order to praise the young contestant. “I didn’t think anyone would get close to Alejandro’s audition as far as me being just, like, dipped in Disney and sparkles and flowers and doves, and that’s what your audition was. I wrote ‘Top 10 def’ on the Motley Crue song and then you just did, I don’t even know what the heck just happened just then.”

For the unversed,  Alejandro Aranda was the runner-up of Season 17 of ‘American Idol’. Bishop’s audition ended with a piece of good news as she got the nod from all the judges along with the Golden Ticket for Hollywood.

‘I need to watch her at the finale’

Apart from the judges on the reality show, social media users also gave thumbs up to the teenager. Speaking on the same lines, one stated, “Not sure how I ended up watching #AmericanIdol but CASEY BISHOP wow wow wow wow. I’m committed now bc I need to watch her at the finale amazing!” Another shared, “I just sat and cried as Casey Bishop sang My funny Valentine. She can Sing and she is only 15. Wow!” One added, “Casey Bishop the only true talented contestant thus far. All others suck in my opinion..This show is nothing like the old” American Idol” either you were talented or you were disqualified.”

The next one posted, “#AmericanIdol I have just heard one of, if not the best singer, in a 15-year-old young lady, name Casey Bishop, and she brought tears to my eyes, delivering two different genres. . one was done in acapella & the other accompanied by piano...I predict her to be a winner!!!” Another concluded, “Casey Bishop is the WHOLE package! She’s what’s been missing from this show for so many years. There have been some amazing singers over the years, but they didn’t quite have the star quality required to go far in the industry. I truly believe Casey has “it”. So good! #AmericanIdol”
