‘Business Proposal’: The Boyz New gets first solo OST, fans say ‘Chanhee world domination’

Previously, his labelmates Victon and Weeekly's Jihan and Soeun sang the OSTs for the ongoing K-drama

‘Business Proposal’ is one of the biggest K-dramas at the moment. Along with the fun and romantic plot, every week we get some kind of trivia about it that blows the minds of viewers. First, we had Knetizens finding out that the male lead, Ahn Hyo-seop almost debuted with GOT7 followed by international fans finding out that the female lead, Kim Sejeong who plays Ha-ri was, in fact, an idol in Gugudan and I.O.I. Meanwhile, Ha-ri’s friend who is played by Seol In-ah turns out to be friends with Sejeong in real life as they had acted in ‘School 2017’ before. 

And then we have her romantic interest, Kim Min-kyu who had first caught everyone’s eye as he played the tsundere (cold) role of Comrade Joo in the iconic K-drama ‘Snowdrop’. And fans keep on finding connections between the rest of the cast and crew. GOT7’s Bambam lent his voice for an OST along with IST Entertainment labelmates Victon and Weeekly’s Jihan and Soeun. Additionally, Victon’s Byungchan plays Ha-ri’s brother in ‘Business Proposal’. And now, fans are about to get another fun fact, as another labelmate of theirs, The Boyz’s New has been added to the OST album.

The Boyz’s New to sing ‘Business Proposal’ OST

On March 21, it was announced that New aka Chanhee will be singing the seventh OST (original soundtrack) of ‘Business Proposal’. While New has released one SoundCloud track and written songs for The Boyz like ‘Candles’ and ‘Spring Snow’, this will be his first solo gig ever. The Boyz as a group, however, have sung OSTs for the likes of ‘Run On’, ‘Racket Boys’ and the webtoon ‘Solo Levelling’. Production is excited for New’s solo OST for ‘Business Proposal’ thanks to his delicate vocals that will lend to the development of the plot in the drama.

New is the latest The Boyz member to go solo. We have several members like Jacob, Kevin and Juyeon hosting music shows while Younghoon and Haknyeon are actors. Kevin also dropped an OST before he debuted with The Boyz. Many of them have also made music video cameos for their labelmates Melody Day while Younghoon had gone viral for his appearance in I.O.I’s ‘Whatta Man’ music video.

'I’m gonna hear Chanhee’s angelic voice'

Well, fans trended New’s real name Chanhee as they congratulated him. One Deobi tweeted, “Chanhee went from recommending business proposal to having an ost for it no one is doing it like him.” Another fan commented, “Business proposal is a huge kdrama > chanhee sing the ost > theyre in love > finding who is the singer > chanhee world domination.” One posted, “I’m gonna hear chanhee’s angelic voice while i blush watching business proposal b*tch i won.” Another fan added, “I need to start watching business proposal so i can fully be in my feels when chanhee’s ost drops.”
