'Bulletproof' Season 2 Preview: No Lashana Lynch this time but Bishop and Pike are set to go crazier than ever

As it turns out, Lynch couldn't find the time to film her scenes for 'Bulletproof' Season 2 because of her prior commitments to 'Captain Marvel' and 'No Time To Die'

A new season of the Noel Clarke-Ashley Walters cop show 'Bulletproof' is coming to The CW, but there are some major changes in store for this season. In Season 2, Ronnie Pike (Ashley Walters) and Aaron Bishop (Noel Clarke) are going to reach greater heights than ever before but a beloved cast member won't be showing up.

Lashana Lynch's portrayal of Arjana Pike, Ronnie's wife, was a fan-favorite. Unfortunately, she won't be returning to the role in Season 2. Instead, Vanessa Vanderpuye ('Dreaming Whilst Black', 'Venus vs. Mars') will be replacing Lynch as Arjana.

As it turns out, Lynch couldn't find the time to film her scenes for 'Bulletproof' Season 2 because of her prior commitments to 'Captain Marvel' and 'No Time To Die'. The latter project will see Lynch appearing as "00" agent Nomi and there's some speculation that she might end up taking over the 'Bond' franchise as the first woman to step into James Bond's tailored suit.

In an interview with Metro, Walters and Clarke explained that Lynch really put in an effort trying to do 'Bulletproof' Season 2 as well but it just didn't work out.

"She wanted to come back," Walters said. "We wanted her back, but it just didn’t work out with the timings. Obviously, she’s doing some major stuff at the moment, so it was as simple as that. There was no animosity or whatever, we’re good friends and very supportive of what she’s doing."

"She actually tried to make it work between 'Bond' and 'Captain Marvel' and 'Y' [a new drama series from FX],’ Clarke added. "And there was a moment where it looked like it could all fit. But also, ultimately, because of the trajectory, even if it did fit, what would have been really annoying is having her for season two but not being able to have her for season three. Then you’ve got two seasons of having some and it becomes even more tricky."

Although Lynch will be missed on the show, Season 2 still looks like it's going to be a thrilling ride with the boys heading beyond the borders of the UK and taking the action as far as Amsterdam and Cyprus. As much as we wish she was still on board the project, maybe this change is for the best after all.

'Bulletproof' Season 2 will premiere in the US on June 10 at 9 pm ET on The CW.
