Spoilers ahead for 'Bulletproof' Season 2 Episode 2

'Bulletproof' Season 2 is taking things to a whole new level from Season 1 with a lot more action, cool cars, and hilarious lines. Episode 2 brings in an element of romance as well with possible new relationships forming up for both Aaron Bishop (Noel Clarke) and Ronnie Pike (Ashley Walters).

It's Pike's anniversary and things are a bit shaky with his wife Arjana (Vanessa Vanderpuye). She basically wants him to quit his job for the sake of their family but Pike's torn between his marriage and doing what he loves. While all that's happening, Sarah Tanner (Lindsey Coulson) is starting to get a bit skittish about the money she stole from evidence and she's desperately trying to find a way to pay for her father's medical bills.

Meanwhile, Bishop heads out with Mikey Markides's (Ben Tavassoli) friend Brandon Harris (Leeshon Alexander) who begins to confront Bishop over his suspicious lack of background when an unknown assassin shoots Brandon through the head. Brandon is killed on the spot but Bishop is a lot angrier about all the blood ruining his sneakers.

The shooting leads to Bishop meeting Mikey's uncle, the intimidating Alex Markides (Stavros Zalmas), and Alex's daughter Ana Markides (Gala Gordon). There's a clear connection between Ana and Bishop and the two later hook up.

Pike is also starting to court the idea of a new romance with newbie Scarlett "Scooch" Hailton (Olivia Chenery) but Scooch has her own problems to deal with. A missing person case leads Scooch and her partner Paige Pennington (Lucie Shorthouse) to a bogus modeling agency connected to the Markides family.

After a failed attempt at killing some gangsters who Mikey thinks may have been responsible for Brandon's death, we get an intense car chase and Pike meets Alex for the first time. Pike and Bishop get invited to Brandon's wake but that means Pike won't be able to make his anniversary date with Arjana.

The team eventually manages to trace Brandon's killing to an Eastern European gangster who gives Jonesy (David Elliot) and Monroe (Jason Maza) a royal thrashing before Monroe manages to tase him into submission. After they get the number of the person who called the hit from the killer's phone, Bishop finds out that Mikey ordered Brandon's death.

All things considered, it was an enjoyable story and by the end of the episode, the boys attend Brandon's wake (with Bishop wearing new sneakers) and Alex gives a speech about the power of family. Bishop and Pike are now officially a part of the Markides family though it remains to be seen how long it will take before their covers are blown.

'Bulletproof' Season 2 airs Wednesdays at 9 pm on The CW.
