BTS Jimin bags first solo OST for K-drama ‘Our Blues’, fans say 'it fits him perfectly'

Jimin becomes the third member of BTS to officially sing his first solo OST for a K-drama

Looks like BTS members have no plans of slowing down with them being booked and busy all thanks to their upcoming Las Vegas concert just after the success of their ‘PTD on Stage - Seoul’ concert. Now, Jimin, who is part of the vocal line of BTS is making sure fans are entertained as the members get ready for their future schedules. On March 15 it was announced that Jimin, the vocalist of BTS will be singing his first-ever OST and it is for the tvN Saturday K-drama, ‘Our Blues’.

The producer of the upcoming Studio Dragon K-drama, ‘Our Blues’ reported that Jimin of BTS will make his solo OST debut. Other than singing for his boy group BTS, Jimin also has released a few solo singles for his fans like ‘Promise’ and ‘Christmas Love’ among others. This makes Jimin the third member of BTS’ vocal line to sing the OST for a K-drama.

BTS members as OST singers

BTS’ vocal line namely Jin, Jimin, V (Taehyung) as well as Jungkook have all taken turns participating in OSTs for K-dramas and Webtoons. V became the first member of the four as he dropped his first OST single, ‘Sweet Night’ for his Wooga Squad actor-friend, Park Seo-joon’s 2020 K-drama, ‘Itaewon Class’. V also sang another OST for another single, ‘Christmas Tree’ for another Wooga Squad member, actor Choi Woo-sik’s 2021 K-drama, ‘Our Beloved Summer’.

Jin, the oldest member of BTS also sang his first OST titled, ‘Yours’ for the 2021 K-drama, ‘Jirisan’ and Jungkook is still breaking records with his first solo OST ‘Stay Alive’ for the BTS webtoon, ‘7 Fates: Chakho’ that was produced by Suga of BTS. With Jimin becoming the final member of BTS to have his own solo OST, fans are way more than excited to hear his melodious voice for the first time via the K-drama.

The plot of tvN’s ‘Our Blues’

The series ‘Our Blues’ revolves around the sweet and bitter life of people standing at either the end or the beginning of their lives. The show will follow an omnibus format depicting the stories of each of the characters against the backdrop of Jeju Island. With the star-studded cast of  Lee Byung-hun, Cha Seung-won, Lee Jung-eun, Uhm Jung-hwa, Han Ji-min, and the much-loved couple, Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah.

This show is going to be special for fans of the couple as Woo-bin will make his acting comeback with ‘Our Blues’ for the first time after his five-year hiatus since the 2017 K-drama, ‘Uncontrollably Fond’. Min-ah was last seen in the tvN K-drama, ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ and will now appear on the same show as her long-time boyfriend for the first time. The show is slated to premiere on tvN on April 9, 2022, while it will also be streamed on Netflix in selected regions every Saturday and Sunday.

Fans are more than excited for BTS Jimin’s first OST single. One fan said, “From his first self produced song being featured in Marvels’ Eternals soundtrack to his first solo OST for one of the highly anticipated K-dramas of the year, it is safe to say that Jimin’s impact is truly unmatched!” One more fan said, “OUR BLUES IS A HIGHLY ANTICIPATED KDRAMA BTW JAMPACKED WITH KDRAMA VETERANS AND REALLY POPULAR ACTORS COME ON NOW NOTHING LESS FOR JIMIN’S FIRST OST HOLY SH*T.”
