'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 7 Finale: Jake and Amy's baby's name has fans wishing 'they should've had twins'

After almost two years of waiting for this moment, in the words of Charles Boyles himself, it finally happened! From struggling to conceive to managing a city-wide blackout while in labor - there's not a thing Amy Santiago can't do. Except have any say in her husband's choice of name for their baby son who was born right at the end of the Season 7 finale.
Technically, Amy is too in love with Jake to not give him this giant pleasure, and the name isn't bad either. But it does have fans tweeting they wish Jake and Amy had had twins purely for the matching names they could come up with for Mac Peralta.
As it is revealed, Mac is short for McClane of course, aka Bruce Willis' John McClane who is Jake's hero from "the best cop movie of all times" - 'Die Hard'. The movie has had a way of seeping into the plot every season - be it giving Jake the inspiration to be a cop or even have an entire episode revolving around a setting where some of the most pivotal scenes of the film were shot. So of course, what better way to give a nod to the iconic movie, than naming your baby after its lead character.
But with baby Peraltiago being called Mac, loved and adored as he already is in the fandom, viewers have a lot to dish on the unique baby name. One of the fans took to Twitter to share: "They should've been twins then they could've named them mac and cheese." Another fan stated "Watch mac and cheddar become best friends though," referring to the precinct's captain Raymond Holt's fluffy boy corgi, named after only the finest cheese on the planet. Speaking of which a third fan, however, had some expectations with the baby's middle name: "That was such a good finale episode but ngl, I kept waiting for there to be a scene where Jake and Amy reveal to Holt that their baby’s middle name is Raymond."
Another genius fan laid down some facts, tweeting: "I actually hope this kid is called Mac SANTIAGO-Peralta, because then his name would mean "Son of Jacob" (Mac = Son of + Santiago = derived from Jacob) which is literally... perfect." Seriously, everything just always lines up with this show, doesn't it? And now our wait begins for an eighth magical year.
