Is Britney Spears returning to music? Singer records new version of ‘Tiny Dancer’ with Elton John
Pop icon Britney Spears is all set to release new music after a gap of nearly six years after reportedly recording a version of the 1971 hit ‘Tiny Dancer’ with Elton John at a Beverly Hills recording studio. The song was made popular again after it was featured in the 2000 Cameron Crowe movie ‘Almost Famous’.
Variety reported that the track is scheduled to be released by Universal Music in August. Grammy-winner Andrew Watt, who has collaborated with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Pearl Jam, and Ozzy Osbourne, is reported to be the producer-in-charge. The collaboration would mark Britney’s return to music for the first time after her conservatorship ended in November 2021.
2022 has been quite a ride for Britney. She grabbed a mammoth $15 million book deal for her memoir and married her beau Sam Asghari in June. The 'Criminal' singer met her current husband Asghari in October 2016 on the set of her music video for 'Slumber Party'. They made their relationship public in January 2017 and got engaged in September 2021. The wedding was nothing short of a thriller that witnessed her ex-husband Jason Alexander gatecrashing with a knife and getting arrested later.
The pop star regularly posts videos of herself singing and dancing on Instagram. On July 16, she had posted an a cappella version of her singing and grooving to 'Baby One More Time' while doing her laundry. However, the artist also routinely makes posts about struggling with mental issues, something that she has dealt with enough in the past as well.
Britney recently also took social media by storm when she posted nude pictures of herself on Instagram in her London hotel room on Thursday, July 21. The 40-year-old singer, wearing black and blue leopard print underwear, is lying down as she gazed at the camera in the pictures.
In another set of pictures, the 'Toxic' singer cupped her breasts with her hands as she posed on her plush bed. She captioned the second post, “Waking up in London with my Cabo thong!!!” The singer can be seen wearing only a necklace and a turquoise leopard-print thong, which she apparently purchased in Mexico.
In 2021, Britney's conservatorship ended which meant she had full control over her assets. The #FreeBritney movement gained massive momentum across the world. After 13 long years, Britney's father Jamie Spears was removed from the position of her conservator by a court. The move came after an intense legal battle during which the pop icon accused her father of misusing her funds.
Jamie Spears was legally appointed as her conservator in 2008 following her infamous mental health breakdown in public. However, over the years, reports surfaced claiming that Jamie exploited her for money and status while emotionally abusing her for years.
