The internet went gaga when Britney Spears released her song 'Oops!... I Did It Again' in 2000. It is still a favorite of her fans and is seemingly drawing their attention once again in a new way. Fans of her hit track are now saying that they remember the artist wearing a microphone head set with the red latex suit. But what they are actually experiencing is the bizarre 'Mandela Effect'. In case you didn't know, the famous phenomenon is associated with signifcant pop culture or history-making moments. It is like an illusion or false memory of a moment and the creepiest thing about the effect is that it is usually shared by a group of people. So, a lot of people collectively remember something that never happened! Sounds like voodoo, right?

There are several examples of the Mandela Effect all over the internet associated with famous brands and their ads, TV show moments, etc. There are some prominent examples as well. Many people think that the popular kids' show 'Looney Tunes' is actually spelled as 'Looney Toons'. Others think Curious George from the TV series with the same name had a tail when in reality, he didn't. People on the internet also thought that the international shoe brand 'Skechers' had a 't' in it and spelled it like 'Sketchers.' But it was never spelled that way!

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their views. One wrote, "Why does Britney Spears not have a microphone in her music video for Oops I Did it Again… #mandelaeffect." Another fan said, "...they are now showing video's were she never wore a head piece (microphone) & I blatantly remember her having one…" One fan of the track even put a poll on Twitter asking, "In the Britney Spears music video for Oops I Did It Again, do you remember her wearing a headset (and touching it at one point)?"
