'Bobby is back!' Fans excited as Damian Lewis announces his return to 'Billions' in Season 7

Damian Lewis will reprise his role as Bobby Axelrod, the self-made billionaire and fan favorite on 'Billions'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Season 7 of Showtime's 'Billions' is almost here. While fans cannot wait for that, here's some news that will surely make them happier. Damian Lewis, who plays self-made billionaire and fan-favorite Bobby Axelrod, will be returning for the upcoming season. The drama received acclaim for its grounded storylines. However, fans were left disappointed with the outcome of the last two seasons of 'Billions', particularly after season 5.  

'Billions' has six seasons and a total of 72 episodes so far. Apart from Lewis, the series has an incredible cast including Paul Giamatti as Chuck Rhoades, Maggie Siff as Wendy Rhoades, David Costabile as Mike 'Wags' Wagner, Condola Rashad as Kate Sacker, Daniel K Isaac as Ben Kim, Jeffrey DeMunn as Chuck Rhoades Sr, Dan Soder as Mafee, Asia Kate Dillon as Taylor Mason, Corey Stoll as Mike Prince and Kelly AuCoin as 'Dollar' Bill Stearn.

'Bobby is back'

While promoting his new show 'A Spy Among Friends' on the 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', Lewis confirmed his return to 'Billions'. He said, "Bobby is back. He is coming back." He did not specify which episode he would be back in, but that was enough for fans to start celebrating.

'This makes me unbelievably happy'

Fans immediately went on the internet to celebrate this unexpected announcement. A fan tweeted, "@tumwesigyetonny the best thing you'll see on the internet today." Another added, "Completely engaging personality.. became at home fast and took over before the curveball. Wonderful actor. I shall watch him." A hardcore fan tweeted, "This makes me unbelievably happy. The storylines have been shite since Axe left. Multimillionaire Chuck Rhoades going after billionaire Mike Prince on behalf of “the little people” was too much to bear. #Billions."
