After keeping us on the edge for the past five years, it is now time to say goodbye to the NBC drama 'Blindspot'. Season 5 of the show has doled out cliffhangers with each episode, and the previous one kept us on the edge of our seats as Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) got presumably zipped. In other words, life has come full circle and in all probability, Jane has lost her memories again. Does this mean that the Jane-Weller story has come to an end?

Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait for a week to find out. The episode will not air today (July 16) but instead will air on July 23. The synopsis of the 100th and final episode reads: "The remaining team tries to solve a case." Well, that's all we are getting for now folks. The promos don't tell us anything either, we just see flashbacks of Jane from the very beginning when she was found in a body bag with tattoos and no memory.

Last week, we were treated to two episodes of 'Blindspot'. In Episode 8, we were led to believe that Patterson (Ashley Johnson) had been killed in the blast, but of course, she wasn't, because hello, it's Patterson and she always finds a way out.

Patterson knew that everyone believed her to be dead, so she used this to her advantage. She had to ensure Madeline's downfall, at all costs. Despite initially being alone, Patterson reunited with old allies if she had to put an end to Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth) for good. So, she turned to Boston, who was a great asset to the team. And then, Patterson managed to contact Afreen discreetly, who was only too happy to help.

While everything seemed perky, and Madeline did die, it was not the way fans wanted, sadly. Instead of a brutal death at the hands of the FBI agents, she consumed poison to avoid revealing the location of the ZIP containers. Oh did we mention that we lost Matthew Weitz (Aaron Abrams) in a gunfight? Well, we are still sobbing about that. Why do television shows kill characters that are just beginning to redeem themselves?

Nevertheless, the finale will be a worrying one for sure and here's hoping that Jane and Weller get the happy reunion they deserve. Tune into 'Blindspot' on July 23 at 9 pm.
