Blackpink's Lisa breaks another record as 'Lalisa' crosses 900 million streams
Blackpink’s Lisa may have had her solo debut in September and promoted it only for over 10 days but its impact is immeasurable. The Thai-born idol released her single album ‘Lalisa’ with only two tracks. However, both continue to dominate worldwide. While ‘Lalisa’ still has a hold over music charts, ‘Money’ has gone viral on social media - from influencers and dancers to editors making use of it. Lisa also broke several records and made history to the point that she has two Guinness World Records. And now ‘Lalisa’ has been played 900 million times.
On October 29, it was revealed that Blackpink Lisa’s solo debut album has crossed 900 million streams across YouTube, Spotify, Genie and MelOn. This is an impressive feat for a two-track album that was released just over a month ago. And just a few days ago, it was reported that ‘Lalisa’ became the fastest music video by a K-pop female soloist to cross 300 million YouTube views. It also dethroned PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ as the fastest K-pop soloist’s music video to reach 13 million YouTube likes.

‘Lalisa’ keeps breaking records even after a month of its release
Even her performance video of ‘Money’ is constantly breaking records. Uploaded just a month ago, it has crossed 185.2 million YouTube views making it the third-most viewed 2021 music video by a female K-pop idol. It should also be noted that with only three songs -- ‘Lalisa’, ‘Money’ and ‘SG’, Lisa has reached 23.9 million Spotify monthly listeners. This is the highest peak that a K-pop soloist has ever had. The Blackpink star is also the most listened to female K-pop idol at the moment. The ‘Lalisa’ tracks had also debuted at #2 and #3 on Billboard’s newest chart -- Hot Trending Songs Chart -- making Lisa the first female K-pop idol to do so.
Lisa’s debut album is also doing well internationally. ‘Money’ became the highest-peaking K-pop song on Billboard Hot R&B/Hiphop Chart this week as it entered the top 50. It also was in the top 10 of Global 200 Excl. US Chart for the second week in a row making it the first b-side song to do so. It also makes her the first K-pop soloist to spend multiple weeks in the top 10 of the chart with even ‘Lalisa’ ranking high when it was released. She also became the best selling K-pop idol of this week with 625k sales on China’s QQ Music Chart. Even her first solo collab ‘SG’ which features DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion did well as it topped iTunes in 44 countries.
