It's no secret that fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Blackpink member Rosé‘s debut solo album, 'R', but the excitement is way more evident in the fact that fans literally wanted to get their hands on a copy ASAP. Presales are a sure sign that fans can be loyal to the core and that's exactly what Rosé stans are, as they have helped the K-pop idol impressively break a record.

Rosé‘s label YG Entertainment announced today, March 15, that the soloist's debut project 'R' had reached a massive number of presale orders several hours before its physical release.

Rosé dropped her solo album on March 12 and now that the album has been released, it garnered over 500,000 total presales as confirmed sales. The 24-year-old singer has become the eighth female solo artist to reach this number of sales for a single album. Furthermore, what is most notable is that she holds the record for the most presales for a single album by any female K-pop soloist, according to Koreaboo. There are more records she's broken with this album. "#ROSÉ ’s ‘On The Ground’ is now the fastest debut song by a K-Pop act to reach 10 million streams on Spotify. @BLACKPINK"

The exact total number of pre-sales is 505,505 units, which includes 404,318 CDs, 49,058 kits, and 52,129 vinyl LPs. 'R' has become the 11th K-pop album from a female solo artist to reach 500,000 sales. The last time this milestone was hit was back in 2002 with Lee Sooyoung‘s 'My Stay in Sendai' album, which made about 509K total sales.

Fan reactions

Fans have been quick to post their excitement for Rosé‘s new achievement. "Even Blackpink member outsold every gg in terms of one album sales," wrote a fan on Twitter to which another replied, "And it is just a single album with 2 songs. Insane."

One fan said, "Not some people were saying Rosie solo flopped just bcoz it didn't got a PAK now see," and another responded, "Not rosé eating up the kpop industry with a single album all in English." "Soloist of the year!! it’s true it’s true!!! congrats ROSÉ!" wrote a fan.

One Blink commented, "And this is the impact of only one member of BLACKPINK. BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA IS THE REVOLUTION." Another exclaimed: "No but Rosé alone selling 500,000 albums with just 2 songs 11 days after preorder went out, why is this not making more noise hello??
