'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 15: ThunderGrace wedding almost steals the show if not for Gravedigger

With excellent music, some insane action sequences and beautiful costumes (specifically during the wedding), 'The Book of War: Chapter Two' clocks out as one of the better episodes of the season

Spoiler alert for 'Black Lightning' Season 3 Episode 15 'The Book of War: Chapter Two'

The penultimate episode of Season 3 of 'Black Lightning' is finally here and it has dropped some major bombs. Once again, Wayne Brady's Gravedigger was the real highlight of the show but he almost lost the spotlight just for a bit.

The episode started out with Gravedigger talking about the injustices meted on him by the US government. Later on, we also found out that he now has the ability to take on another meta's powers indefinitely and that he's actually the great uncle of Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning (Cress Williams).

Gravedigger is possibly the best villain we've ever had in the Arrowverse and the episode reinforces that revealing how he may actually be justified in his actions. It's always amazing when a villain becomes more interesting than the hero but the spotlight shifts from him when a surprise announcement is made.

Of all the relationships on the show, the one between Thunder aka Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) and Grace Choi (Chantal Thuy) has been a favorite among fans and in the episode, the adorable couple almost cemented their relationship with a spontaneous wedding.

The two lovebirds were literally on the cusp of becoming a married couple, complete with killer wedding outfits, when they realized that Anissa's sister Jennifer Pierce aka Lightning (China Anne McClain) is missing.

Turns out Jennifer thought she could take on Gravedigger on her own and pays for it with her life. Now, don't freak out, Jefferson does manage to revive her but the wedding was still effectively ruined, shifting the focus back to Gravedigger and his epic rematch with Black Lightning that will be seen in the upcoming finale.

The episode itself was a near-perfect story despite the confusing fact that Jefferson still hasn't considered calling in his Super Friends or offered an explanation for why he doesn't want to involve his new crossover buddies.

However, with excellent music, some insane action sequences and beautiful costumes (specifically during the wedding), 'The Book of War: Chapter Two' clocks out as one of the better episodes of the season.

'Black Lightning' Season 3 will air its final episode on March 9 at 9 pm ET, exclusively on The CW.
