The Markovians have been stationed outside ASA-occupied Freeland through the whole season, but when they kidnapped Lynn Pierce (Christine Adams), they fired their first opening shots.

Black Lightning responded, assembling a crew of 'Outsiders' to take the fight to Markovia in order to bring Lynn back, and now? It's time for war.

Team Black Lightning is coming home to lick their wounds, but Markovia isn't going to give them a lot of time to recuperate for launching their attack.

Now working with the ASA, Black Lightning and his family are going to have to figure out a way to shore up Freeland's defenses and end the war with Markovia once and for all. The question is, what would end the war when Freeland still has what Markovia wants — a potential army of enhanced metahumans?

The official synopsis for the episode reads: "As the battle continues, old alliances are revisited and new alliances forged." The CW has released a promo for the episode, that you can view here:

The promo sees preparations for the war underway, with glimpses of the action ahead. There's no sign of Gravedigger (Wayne Brady), but there's no doubt that he's going to be a big part of the upcoming war for Freeland's freedom.

What is notable in the promo is the Pierce family sitting around the table for dinner. They've been torn apart this season, each dealing with their own messes and opinions, but all four of them are finally reunited again.

Jefferson Pierce has learned to recognize how much stronger he is when he stops trying to protect his family and instead lets them fight with him, and that's exactly what he's asking of them in preparation for the fast-approaching Markovian invasion.

The next episode of 'Black Lightning' airs on February 24 on The CW.
