ABC proudly brings back the 8th and final season of its popular comedy series, 'Black-ish'. The family favorite is created by Kenya Barris.

The series revolves around the life of a black family, where the family's head, Andre "Dre" Johnson (played by Anthony Anderson), tries his best to gain a sense of cultural identity in modern-day America, whilst also inculcating habits and disciplining his children.

Season 8 of 'Black-ish' premieres on January 4, 2022, on ABC.

What is 'Black-ish' all about?

The official synopsis reads: "A family man struggles to gain a sense of cultural identity while raising his kids in a predominantly white, upper-middle-class neighborhood". 

Who stars in the ABC series?

Anthony Anderson as Andre 'Dre' Johnson

Anthony Anderson is a popular American actor, comedian, and game show host by profession. He is seen in several films and TV shows and has also starred in his own sitcom called, 'All About the Andersons', ABC's 'Black-ish', and Fox's 'The Bernie Mac Show', on its fifth and final season.

Anderson is known for his lead roles in the series 'K-Ville', 'The Shield', and also for his role as NYPD Detective Kevin Bernard on NBC's 'Law & Order'. In addition, he also had major roles in films that include, 'Me, Myself & Irene', 'Kangaroo Jack', 'Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London', 'Hoodwinked', 'The Departed', 'Transformers', and 'Scream 4'.

Anderson is a regular judge on 'Iron Chef America', airing on Food Network, and has also worked as an executive producer for ABC's 'Black-ish', whilst also starring in it as Andre Johnson.

The rest of the cast includes Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr, Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Peter Mackenzie as Mr Stevens, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Jeff Meacham as Josh, Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, and Katlyn Nichol as Olivia Lockhart.
