LOS ANGELES: The release of 'Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King' introduced a wizard king who was shunned by the kingdom, and that was Princia Funnybunny. She joined hands with the three other wizard kings to establish her dominance in the Clover Kingdom and found a worthy opponent in the form of Lady Mereoleona who is also fondly called 'Big Sis'.

The strength and capability demonstrated by Lady Mereoleona in the Netflix film has been rarely matched by any until the arrival of Princia. While Princia does not understand the source of Mereoleona's courage, she can appreciate her strength and courage.

The fight between Lady Mereoleona and Princia Funnybunny

The fight between Lady Mereoleona and Princia Funnybunny started with the sole intention of providing a big enough distraction. Mereoleona engaged Princia so that Asta could go head-to-head with Conrad, and Yuno could fight with Jester to rescue the captains. The battle between the four different groups intensified but both sides had a sense of purpose in their battle.

Conrad and Princia shared the same goal — establishing their dominion over Clover Kingdom ruthlessly. Asta, along with his squad, was inclined towards establishing peace for all. Mereoleona fought on the side of Asta and made sure that Princia was defeated in an epic depiction of strength and perseverance. Princia had a difficult time understanding the source of her courage because she herself spent her entire life in solitude. Mereoleona caused Princia to unleash her full potential indicating that both found a worthy opponent in each other.

The difference in purpose

One of the reasons why Lady Mereoleona succeeded in winning over Princia was not bceause of her physical strength or magical capability but because of the support she constantly receives from her friends and close ones. With one of the core supporters being Asta, the fate of the Clover Kingdom lay in the hands of all of them. Asta could not fight the battle all alone — he needed resources and strength to persevere. His friends and family provided that. The battle was not just between Asta and Conrad but between all the squad members and the remaining wizard kings.

Lady Mereoleona gave it her all in the battle because she believes in the same purpose as Asta. She wants to see a better kingdom and build it alongside Asta and others. However, Princia only wants to witness destruction because she does not know what friendship and camaraderie can be like. Lady Mereoleona not only found a worthy opponent in the form of Princia physicallly and magically, but emotionally as well. Princia did not have anything to lose but neither did she have anything to love.

'Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King' is available on Netflix from June 16, 2023.
