CBS reality show 'Big Brother' has amassed a huge fanbase across the globe ever since it premiered in 2000. The popular show will soon enter its 24th season and ardent viewers are curious to witness what new the makers have in store for them. 'Big Brother' is based on the 1997 Dutch reality show of the same name.

The format is similar to that of the Dutch version where contestants reside together in a house without any contact with the outside world. Their activities are observed through television cameras alongside audio microphones. A housemate is eliminated every week, with one emerging as a winner in the end.

When is ‘Big Brother’ Season 24 releasing and where can you watch it?

The 24th season of 'Big Brother' will premiere on July 6, 2022, at 8 pm ET on CBS.

What is the plot of ‘Big Brother’ Season 24?

At the beginning of each week, the guests compete for the Head of Household. The winner becomes immune from eviction and chooses two contestants to be nominated for eviction.

Six guests then compete for the Power of Veto competition and the winner can either revoke the nomination of any one contestant or simply leave it that way. If the veto winner uses the power, the Head of Household should nominate another housemate for eviction. The Power of Veto winner gets immunity from being replaced by another nominee and on eviction night, the contestants vote to evict any one nominee.

However, the Head of Household and nominee cannot vote and it is conducted by host Julien Chen Moonves in the Diary Room. The Head of Household has the right to vote in case there is a tie. The evicted nine contestants, called The Jury, are sent to another house and they decide the winner. The Jury can only watch the competitions and ceremonies. The public has the right to award an additional prize of $75,000 and the evicted contestants can win the award.
