BET HipHop Awards 2021: BIA's performance to 'Whole Lotta Money' slammed as 'boring'

'This Bia performance just seemed lazy. I expected more, maybe that my fault,' a fan tweeted

The BET HipHop Awards 2021 are on after a prolonged wait and fans thronged the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta to witness their favorite rappers perform in person. This year, several newbie rappers are aspiring to steal the show side by side with veteran artists. The rappers performing at the award stage include Baby Keem, BIA, Doechii, Gunna, Isaiah Rashad, Kal Banx, Latto, Lil Jon, Nelly, Paul Wall, Tobe & Fat Nwigwe, and Young Thug. 

Rapper Bianca Miquela Landrau aka BIA hyped up the enthusiasm with her winning red carpet moment, but the 30-year-old failed to ignite a similar spark on stage. The 'Whole Lotta Money' and 'Bia Bia' hitmaker's much-awaited performance at the BET HipHop Awards stage fell flat. In fact, fans even trolled her brutally on social media for putting up a "lazy" and "boring" performance that did not engage the audience.

Bia has been nominated in the 'Song of The Year' category this time for 'Whole Lotta Money' remix version, which features Nicki Minaj as well. The track is also nominated in the Best Collaboration category and stands a fair chance at bagging the award.  

However, the star failed to rack up the same infectious energy and vibe of the song, while performing on the BET stage alongside Lil Jon. "@BIABIA was boring. @LilJon had to hype up a sloth of a performance. #HipHopAwards," a user tweeted. 

Another fan wrote, "Bia needs some more practice on stage this performance is very dry #HipHopAwards." A third fan did not hold back on the criticism, as they tweeted, "Bia what is these dancers doing… matter fact what are you doing?!! This is what happens when the writers come to the forefront wanting to be seen. She is boring, it’s something about her presence she lacks. #HipHopAwards"

"This Bia girl is boring. How are you this boring even with Lil John on the stage? #HipHopAwards," came another comment. "Umm this Bia performance just seemed lazy. I expected more, maybe that my fault. Idk about this #HipHopAwards," a fifth fan tweeted. 

Well, we guess it was just an off day for the star performer. We do hope she bags the awards for both the nominations as she deserves it 100%. 

The BET HipHop Awards 2021 took place on October 5 at 9 pm ET/PT and is now streaming live on Hulu + Live TV.
