Puerto Rican-Italian singer and rapper BIA, whose real name is Bianca Landrau, recently appeared on Nicki Minaj’s Instagram Live when the latter decided to hop on the remix of BIA’s hit single ‘Whole Lotta Money’. During the live interaction, the conversation steered towards top Nigerian rappers such as Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido.

When Nicki asked BIA if she was aware of Nigerian acts such as Burna, Wizkid or Davido, the 29-year-old crooner said that she did not know what they all looked like. BIA clarified her controversial comment a day later and said that just because she didn't know what they looked like did not mean she was not aware of their music. However, this did not go down well with Burna as he took to his Twitter account to address the issue saying that BIA slid into his DMs in 2018 and added that he has been filling out arenas and stadiums since 2018.

Burna Boy takes a dig at BIA

BIA first tweeted clarifying the matter on July 9 saying, “I said I don’t know what they all look like doesn’t mean I don’t know their music. I didn’t mean to offend anyone.” And while replying to a fan’s tweet she later explained, “I said I don’t know what they All LOOK LIKE… it a difference stupid.” She also reverted to another social media user saying, “I know what wiz kid looks like.I don’t know what everyone else looks like.”

Burna then took the matter into his own hands and logged into his Twitter to speak on the issue. He apparently took a dig at BIA and said, “That babe wey nor know our face don dey my dms since 2018,” adding a laughing emoticon. He later posted, “I’ve sold out every venue I’ve ever been booked for since 2018. Most of them 2 or three nights back to back. This next chapter of my Life as a performer is something I really look forward to. I’m in only ARENAS, STADIUMS and FESTIVALS worldwide. DREAMS come TRUE for REAL.” However, the Instagram page called The NeighborhoodTalk soon shared an image where BIA apparently spoke to them further clearing the air on the controversy, saying, “Burna Boy Love your music. Don't be hurt. I said ion know what you look like. You girl is beautiful anyway you shouldn't care. i am happy. Now don't make it seem look like i slid on you in 2018 bc i tagged your song. Now back to what's more important. stream #wholelottamoneyremix.” An hour later, BIA again took to Twitter and shared, “Why do you care?” which fans understood was a dig at Burna. Now, the Nigerian rapper is yet to revert on the same.

‘Burna makes it really hard to be a fan’

Social media users were quick to dismiss Burna Boy after he took a jab at BIA and dragged the matter unnecessarily. One user posted, “Burna boy needs to live a little and stop tightening everything to his chest. He has a reaction to everything except when sweet salome jollof came to tell us about him.” Another user tweeted, “Burna makes it really hard to be a fan tbh. Musically, lyrically, he’s far above others. But his insecurities, f**king annoying!!”

One individual posted, “Burna boy and Davido are the only musicians I know that don't leave their fans to drag people. They will come and drag you by themselves.” Whereas, another said, “You’re too childish. Because Wizkid has been shouting sold out, you decided to come tweet this? It’s obvious you’re pained. Make I kuku unstan from today.” One simply dubbed Burna Boy as an “Insecure man” when another noted, “One of the things a man must not have is low self-esteem. Hold yourself high fellas. Don't get rattled by unnecessary nonsense.”
