BET Hip-Hop Awards Full Nominations List: Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion lead the pack
The nominations for the 16th edition of the BET Hip-Hop Awards have been revealed and without any surprises, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion lead the race with nine nominations each. Drake, on the other hand, pulled eight nods which does not include his latest studio effort ‘Certified Lover Boy’. He still managed to reserve a spot in top categories like Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Artists like Tyler, the Creator, J Cole, 21 Savage & Metro Boomin, and Moneybagg Yo among others scored nominations for their respective 2021 releases. Nicki Minaj, who dropped ‘Seeing Green’ with fierce guest verses from her close pals Lil Wayne and Drake, took an indirect jab at the award show for not considering the song in nominations. Lil Nas X, on the other hand, grabbed two nods for his hit ‘Montero (Call Me by Your Name)’ whereas Sweetie and Doja Cat pocketed a nod for their collaboration ‘Best Friend’.
