'Better Call Saul' Season 5 Premiere: Fans beg Jimmy McGill to not turn into Saul and mess things up with Kim

Remember when Breaking Bad introduced Saul Goodman and everybody immediately fell in love with him? That was before Kim Wexler and now fans are torn

After 18 long months of making fans wait with bated breath and eager anticipation, the fifth penultimate season of 'Better Call Saul' is finally here. We are finally ready with arms wide open to watch the tragic turnover of an idealistic attorney turned amoral lawyer Saul Goodman. But before Jimmy McGill can embrace the new titular persona, countless fans are now pouring in with support for his girlfriend, Kim Wexler, sharing how thrilled they are to see their relationship.

They feel that Kim's arc otherwise has been explored, while also pleading with Jimmy to not turn into the not-so-good-man, for her sake at least.

It all started with a fan noting how back when the parent show of the AMC series - 'Breaking Bad' introduced the character of Saul Goodman and the audience immediately fell in love with the suave attorneys for the decrepit. But then we were blessed with the tragic backstory of the character in a whole other spinoff, and four years later, all the audience cares about is Jimmy not becoming the inevitable Saul he has.

"2009 #BreakingBad Audience: We love Saul Goodman. 2020 #BetterCallSaul audience: We love Kim Wexler. Please Jimmy, don't become Saul Goodman and mess this up," pleaded the fan on twitter, while another spoke in support of Jimmy aka Saul's girlfriend Kim, whom we see meander through a sea of conflict as she tries to cope with the sudden name and persona change in her boyfriend while trying to estimate his complicity in the cons and man he has become. "Tonight is the night @BetterCallSaul peeps! Can’t wait to see @rheaseehorn have a great season. Gotta love Kim Wexler, a devoted lover, smart as a whip and with the baddest ponytail on the planet!"

Another fan addressed the other unanimous question that the entire Breaking Bad-Better Call Saul fandom has been looking forward to finding out for ages now why Kim isn't in the parent show. "Just rewatched ep 10, season 4 of @BetterCallSaul in preparation for tonight. 18 months and finally, season 5. Season 6 is the last, and I assume we'll find out why Kim is nowhere to be seen in BREAKING BAD, and WW will make his entrance, bringing it full circle. S'all good, man," they wrote.

'Better Call Saul' Season 5 premiered on Sunday, February 23, at 9 pm on AMC, with later episodes to air on Mondays, same time, same network.
