LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly squabbling over their $64M mansion as the 'Gone Girl' star fears his wife will squash his dreams of owning the ultra-luxurious 16,000sqft property they are reportedly under contract to buy.
The Hollywood couple is reportedly in escrow on the eight-bedroom, 14-bathroom mansion in Pacific Palisades, California. Meanwhile, sources told TMZ that Affleck and Lopez have already fallen out of escrow on the home they seemed to have their sights set on earlier this month. While the situation is unclear at this point, it's worth noting that the pair had already backed out of several deals, including pulling out of a nearby $34.5M home at the last minute.

Affleck is reportedly determined to go through with purchasing the $64M mega-mansion, but his wife isn't sold on it. “Ben is fighting for it. He really wants this house,” sources told Page Six. The insider said that he loved the coveted neighborhood, but his wife was ready to pull out for a fourth time. According to Radar Online, Affleck and JLo's house hunt has been a "nightmare of power plays and fights" amid claims that the 'Good Will Hunting' actor was deadset on building a man cave in their new home.
Sources claimed their decision to walk away from the $34.5M purchase while in escrow was because the pair couldn't get on the same page on where Affleck's man cave should go. Meanwhile, his vision reportedly did not complement his wife's decor ideas. "Jennifer has strong-armed Ben on just about everything else, but this is one issue he refuses to back down on," an insider told Radar Online. "All Ben wants is a man cave with an excellent entertainment system where he can hang with friends and decompress," the source said, adding, "But Jennifer has a very definite idea of how the house should be: clean lines, open living spaces, white walls, plush rugs, and floor-to-ceiling windows. She wants the décor tastefully done to her specifications — and Ben's jukebox and ping-pong table just won't fit!"
Ultra luxurious property
Should Affleck and Lopez decide to follow through with the $64M estate, they will own one of the most luxurious properties in the area. According to the New York Post, the main house has six bedrooms and 10 baths across 13,000sqft. It comes with a 3,000sqft two-bedroom, four-bathroom guest house. It also has an 800sqft gym where Lopez can work out.
The grounds reportedly feature a long driveway that opens to a sizeable motor court. Meanwhile, outdoor amenities include a spa, a resort-style pool, and a fire feature. The property also includes a media room, an expansive game room that opens out to the backyard, two playrooms, a large kitchen, and a family room. The listing is currently held by Fred Bernstein with Westside Estate Agency, per the Post.
Affleck and Lopez were recently spotted at the $64M estate on March 11. The pair did not look too ecstatic, with sources telling Radar Online that their quest for securing a permanent home was not the only issue Bennifer has been quibbling about. Insiders told the outlet that the duo had been bickering since taking the holy vows in July and that Ben's smoking habit was a major issue in their marriage, especially after he had promised her he'd give up the habit.
