'One of the best years yet!' Jennifer Lopez shares stunning new photos from her wedding to Ben Affleck
LOS ANEGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez had plenty of reason to be thankful in 2022. The 53-year-old actress and singer married Ben Affleck in July after their second engagement, and on Jan. 1, she shared a heartfelt year-end tribute on Instagram with never-before-shown images from her Las Vegas and Georgia wedding in a reel that included highlights from each month of the year.
"2022 was one of the best years yet!!!" the 'Marry Me' star wrote. "I cannot wait for all that's to come next year… #HappyNewYear #ImJustGettingStarted #WaitingForTonight #ThisIsMeNow." In addition to business milestones such as the release of new music, award show appearances and days of filming, Lopez also gave viewers a glimpse into her personal life with Affleck and their children, twins Max and Emma, who are 14. There was also coverage of her engagement, which she and Affleck announced in April.

The actress even provided a close-up view of her magnificent, enormous green engagement ring from Affleck. The two exchanged vows on July 16 at the A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. In a now-public image from the reel, Lopez can be seen wearing a stunning long-sleeved corseted gown and veil, and Affleck has his arm around her as they sit in the back of a pink vintage Cadillac convertible after saying "I do."
At Affleck's Georgia house in August, Lopez and Affleck held their second ceremony, which she also shared some outfits from. In the photographs, J.Lo is seen wearing a backless gown with a halter-style bodice and flower appliqués around the plunging neckline. She was carrying a tiny white handbag and wearing a matching veil. The viewing of sketches of Lopez's many bridal gowns was one of her May 2022 highlights. Lopez also included numerous PDA pictures of Affleck and her kissing, hugging, and traveling together throughout the course of the year.
The pair announced their engagement in November 2002, but they broke up in January 2004 before reconcilling in 2021. Lopez gave details about her wedding to her fans in her newsletter. "When he saw me appear at the top of the stairs that moment it both made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe, like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken,' she wrote." She continued: "I would have had many of the same thoughts probably had I not been focusing so hard on not tripping over my dress, but when I got close enough to see his face, it made the same wonderful sense to me. Some old wounds were healed that day and the weight of the past finally lifted off our shoulders. Full-circle — and not at all the way we planned it. Better," the singer gushed.
The founder of JLo Beauty acknowledged before that "the night before about getting married again" Affleck and Lopez had a laugh about their old age. "We had both been married before and we aren’t exactly kids anymore but somehow now seemed like the only age that made sense," she explained. She continued by informing readers that Rainer Marie Rilke's poem Letters to a Young Poet, which talks about being prepared for love and how "giving happiness and love becomes more joyful than receiving it," was the source of her inspiration.
