Who is Sydney Zaruba? Meet the new star of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 2 who is a globetrotter
Season 2 of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' is all set to sail on Monday, March 1, and this time Captain Glenn Shephard has an all-new crew which includes the lovely deckhand, Sydney Zaruba. So who is Zaruba and will it be smooth sailing for her on the show?
Zaruba has had all hands on deck ever since she can remember. Sydney seems to have literally been a water baby. Talking about her childhood, she says,"I was born on a boat and have had my sea legs since day one. My first experience traveling was on board the Athene at two weeks old to visit the Dry Tortugas."

Keeping with the family tradition, Sydney now helps to run her family's boat business which charters a 76-foot schooner named Freedom. Sydney also goes by the moniker of 'The Boho Traveller' on social media and explains the reason behind the name.
Sydney says, "Fortunately for me, my parents raised me with gypsy roots, traveling all over the United States. Tagging along with us would be my brother, and often our dogs, the cat, and sometimes even Grandmama. Cross-country road trips were more frequent than not, and my desire for travel can be directly related back to my nomad feet upbringing. Thanks to my parents, I can never sit still in one place for too long."
So what travel tips can 'The Boho Traveller' share? Sydney says, "Finding your own way, and truly being able to enjoy and experience a place without struggling too much and having someone to help guide you, makes travel so rewarding, and I want to be the guide for people from any walk of life. I currently take at least one trip a month, and my most current travels can be found on my Instagram. Travels of recent past include a sailing trip in the Gulf of Mexico, NYC, NY, Peru, Colorado, Alaska & Canada, Cancun, Mexico and will soon include Las Vegas, Chicago, Bali, and hopefully more of South America. I spend my free time plotting when my next flight will be. I love all new experiences, whether it be camping in the lonely countryside, or trying a trendy new bar in a big city. As long as I can soak in a new culture, or walk in a new way of life for a few days, I’m happy. My advice to all travelers and those who want to take on the world; You can’t plan out your whole life, float to where the wind takes you."
Sydney's adventurous spirit will no doubt come in handy as she explores new horizons with 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht'. Sydney may be used to sailing but the super yachting world seems out of her depth. Adding challenges is the controversial boatmance she enters on the show.
