'Below Deck': Was it Tom's fault he forgot a guest's food preference? Fans say Bugsy should have reminded him

Tom Checketts invited trouble when he forgot about a guest's dietary preferences. One of the ladies mentioned in the preference sheet that she doesn't eat beef or pork, which the head chef's overlooked and he ended up with the food, which was gracefully returned to the galley. Aesha Scott shared the issue and Tom immediately admitted to having made a mistake and got down to cooking pieces of chicken in the same sauce the beef was prepared. He was disappointed for not keeping in mind the guest's preference and even asked Aesha to "apologize profusely" to the guest when she serves the food.

Later, Malia told him not to be hard on himself. Tom has always been clear about how delivering subpar food is something he is opposed to because it doesn't sit well with the reputation he has worked so hard to build. However, mistakes happen especially when it's such a stress-inducing environment. Interestingly, the guest was forgiving and even called Aesha to share that Tom did a fantastic job with the food and he should keep it up. 

Meanwhile, fans debated if it was Tom's fault that he couldn't remember the dietary preferences of the guests or chief stewardess Christine 'Bugsy' Drake's that she didn't remind him of it? 

"These people got SO much personal crap going on, their not paying ANY attention to the guests needs, wants or wishes...that’s ridiculous. And still expect a tip?! Why is Bugsy not relaying this IMPORTANT info to the chef??SMH...#BelowDeckMed," a fan commented, to which another responded: "The chef is the one who should know the food preferences inside & out. His mistakes reflect badly on him & could've proved fatal, if the preference had been an allergy."

"Pretty awkward to keep going with this “dramatic guest” storyline about someone whose preference sheet said she doesn’t eat BEEF or PORK and then was served both beef and pork by the chef #BelowDeckMed," a viewer expressed.
