'Below Deck Mediterranean' Season 5 came to an end this week. For loyal fans, it was quite the dampener. They were possibly expecting an explosive finish but it was all about the last bits of Jessica 'Jess' More and Robert 'Rob' Westergaard's relationship that started on The Wellington and from the looks of it, ended on it.

Viewers, who have eagerly waited for the finale, were left disappointed about how stretched the last few episodes of the season seemed and added that finale could have at least been done without the Rob-Jess drama. It seems the couple's tumultuous relationship has been weighing them, the crew and viewers down.

"Final thoughts on #BelowDeckMediterranean #belowdeckmed During the finale, I heard the wind blow outside my house and had more interest in that than the show. Long 20 episodes, season rating a friendly 2/10," a fan commented, another expressed: "This is the worst season finale ever. Also, did bravo really think this Jess and Rob relationship drama was that entertaining? It is the WORST. just end it already #BelowDeckMed." "Even their finale party was a buzzkill. #BelowDeckMed," a user shared. "This is the most uneventful season finale #BelowDeckMed," another posted.

"#belowdeckmed CAN'T believe I am channel surfing during the finale of a show I used to enjoy so much, but," a fan tweeted while another shared: "It appears that we are having a recap episode of #BelowDeckMed disguised as the finale. This show should have been over three weeks ago as they have dragged these last two charters on forever." "Season finale of #BelowDeckMed on now. All I can say is finally it’s over! The show was terrible after Hannah left. Even lovely Aesha couldn’t save this disaster of a season. Malia and Captain Sandy better be out next season," a user expressed.

What could have possibly gone wrong in the finale?

Based on what fans have pointed out, the Rob-Jess boatmance could have been skipped. Even though there were theatrics involved, their equation seemed exhausting and would bring tense vibes onto a party scene. Tom Checketts and Malia White once gossiped that Rob and Jess were worst matched couple because all they do is crib, fight and whine. And those were the exact few things that the couple indulged in, making the finale similar to most of the last few episodes.
