Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman' gets an official working title and it has a slight 'Dark Knight' touch

With the filming kicking off in 2020, Robert Pattinson is all set to be the next Caped Crusader after Ben Affleck and Christian Bale

Robert Pattinson is all set to take over the role of the Caped Crusader in the hotly-anticipated 'The Batman' after Ben Affleck in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' (2016) and 'Justice League' (2017) and Christian Bale in 'The Dark Knight' trilogy. With filming set to begin in 2020, the film's official working title has been revealed.

Wondering what it could be? For starters, it does have a slight allusion to 'The Dark Knight'. As Matt Reeves preps for production, the superhero movie is all set to begin rolling under the tentative title 'Vengeance' according to a listing found in Production Weekly.

Bruce Wayne's transformation to Batman began for a reason: to get vengeance for the death of his parents at Crime Alley. Isn't that an apt name for 'The Batman' solo movie?

Back in September, it was reported that 'The Batman' will be filmed in the United Kingdom at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, following suit of movies like 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', 'Justice League', 'Wonder Woman' and its sequel 'Wonder Woman 1984'.

Currently, there is no particular plot revealed for the forthcoming movie. News reports, however, suggest the new film will not be an 'origin story'. Earlier this year, Reeves pointed at the film being "very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale".

He said, "It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films."

"The comics have a history of that. He's supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that's not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been," he added.

The all-new reboot of the Dark Knight of the DC universe boasts of a stellar cast. Actor Zoë Kravitz has landed the role of anti-hero Catwoman aka Selina Kyle, a role that was previously played by Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer.

It also has Jeffery Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Paul Dano as Edward Nigma, the supervillain known as Riddler. Colin Farrell is reportedly in talks to play Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, the supervillain named Penguin. 'The Batman' will hit the theaters on June 25, 2021.
