'Basketball Wives' Season 9 is underway and even though the ladies are serving drama like no other, fans are missing one of their favorites from the old cast – Draya Michele. She has been a part of the show since the nascent stages and it has helped her launch a million-dollar swimsuit line - Mint Swim. However, what happened in the four seasons that Draya was a part of, made her swear not to feed into the "aggressive Black women" narrative, Cheatsheet reported.

She left the show after the ladies pushed her to a corner by dumping on her gossips and rumors that she never got the chance to clarify. During her time on the show, her relationships with "high profile men" earned her solid storylines but also the tag of a "groupie." But she never let any of that come in the way of her goals. Draya always wanted to run a business of her own and be an actress, which was all she was focussing on. But she left when the cattiness got out of hand, Draya left.

Draya dated Rihanna's ex, Chris Brown, for nine months in 2011 and later NFL star Orlando Scandrick. They broke up in 2019. The ex-couple has a son, Jru, together. Her on-off relationship with Orlando landed her an engagement ring but that came off quickly following patterns of toxicity between the two. Interestingly, the same cannot be said about her short-lived relationship with Chris, who once made headlines for all things abusive. Talking on 'The Wendy Williams Show', Draya confirmed that "All of the rumors and whatever they have against him, I never witnessed any of that. So I saw a different Chris Brown.”

The actress, designer, and mother, has now invested her energies in Mint Swim. She recently collaborated with Kylie Jenner's skincare company of the same name - Kylie Skin. At this point, one may think of it as a big deal but it's not really given how tight Draya and Kylie have been. They were off to Turks and Caicos to shoot in their new range of bikinis along with Sofia Richie and Anastasia Karanikolaou. Talking to Metro about her bond with the Kardashian-Jenner clan, she said: "We live close together and her sisters… I’m close with them, and then I got close with her (Kylie) through that." 



 

Meanwhile, fans are missing the straightforwardness that Draya brought to the mix. They want her back. "They should bring Draya & Jen back to #BasketballWives," a user tweeted, another shared: "Draya was way more entertaining and tolerable than Feby. To even compare them is laughable. Draya didn’t kiss Shaunie’s ass and she left on her own terms, built an empire and is still talked about. #basketballwives." "We can get rid of OG and Feby and bring back Draya and Brooke #basketballwives," a fan commented.
