SAYULITA, MEXICO: 'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 9 stars recently had a roasting session which left Rachel Recchia in tears. In the latest season, Tanner was quite disappointed when Rachel went on a date with her former 'Bachelorette' suitor Jordan Vandergriff.

Tanner and Rachel still wanted to give their relationship a shot and had a conversation to avoid any miscommunication. Rachel admitted in her confessional that she felt the most herself during that conversation than she had in her whole 'Bachelor Nation' experience.

However, during the roast session, Tanner insulted Rachel as he compared her with Gabby Windey. Tanner said, "We were all really, really excited when we found out that there was gonna be an ex-Bachelorette on the beach, and obviously we were really hoping for Gabby, but we got Rachel."

Tanner's "mean" comment received backlash on social media. A social media user said, "Comparing women to each other isn’t comedy, isn’t cute, isn’t funny. Stay away from Rachel for the love of god @tanner."

Another critic noted, "Nah tanner can go. how do you give rachel a rose, not talk to her after the ceremony, get upset that she went on a date, have her open up to you, and then use her and gabby’s constant comparisons against her in a roast??? that’s f**ked up."

Another person added, "Tanner, Rachel didn't deserve that. Aren't you the one that's supposed to be dating her? I'm so confused. Why did you think that would be okay?!"

Another X user wrote, "Tanner saying that he wished it was gabby on the beach instead of rachel wasn’t even funny. just straight up mean."

Another viewer penned, "NO way #Rachel should continue to give #Tanner the time of day after the comment about #Gabby! This is a serious 🚩! If Tanner can be this cruel to @pilot__rachel now just think how mean he’ll be to her. RUN Rachel! You deserve better!"

Another internet user stated, "If the guy I was dating had a whole room of people to roast and he chose to not just roast me but actually be very mean to me, he would be GONE gone."

Rachel Recchia breaks down after Tanner Courtad's 'mean' roast

'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 9 had a roasting session which left Rachel Recchia devastated. Aven Jones and Jordan Vandergriff's gently mocked ex-Rachel's personality.

However, the roasting went far beyond when Tanner Courtad took center stage. After hearing Tanner's dig, Rachel admitted in confessional, "I definitely was enjoying this connection I had with Tanner."

She added, "I opened up to him about things that I haven’t told anyone else, which I thought was so special. But why would you say something that mean?!"

She broke down in tears and added, "We all can pretend it’s a joke, but deep down what you’re saying you actually feel, and I don’t think it’s funny."

Will Rachel Recchia split with Tanner Courtad?

Rachel Recchia appeared to be heartbroken after Tanner Courtad's roast. However, it appeared like she would soon part ways with Tanner.

In the preview for episode 9, Rachel was shown walking away with her rose before the rose ceremony, calling it a hard decision. The public insult appeared to sabotage Rachel and Tanner's relationship.

However, it's unclear when Rachel decides to leave Paradise or to find another connection. But as the finale episode is around the corner, Rachel is speculated to self-eliminate herself.

'Bachelor in Paradise' Season 9 releases new episodes every Thursday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
