After melting hearts in the romantic drama 'Marriage Story', Azhy Robertson is now portraying the adorable Philip Levin in HBOs latest mini-series 'The Plot Against America'. In an exclusive interview with MEA Worldwide, 10-year-old Robertson talks about the similarities with his character, his friendship with co-star Winona Ryder and what he plans to work on next.

Asked how he prepared for the role of Philip Levin, Robertson answered, "I had to learn about a lot of stamps, and how to put them in album, collecting them, as well as the history of stamps and the techniques you use to put in the book.

Roberston said that he is a "fan" of collecting stamps just like his character. "It's very interesting and complex, as every stamp has a detailed moment in history. It's pretty cool, fun and you get to learn about history," he said.

The story is also seen from the perspective of Philip Levin, whose naivety and innocence adds a charm to the show. Asked about the similarities with his character, Robertson answered, "We look alike. I'm not too close to him, but we both are interested in the world around us, I guess."

'The Plot Against America' is an alternate history of the USA — one where Nazi sympathizer Charles Lindbergh won the 1940s elections and became the President. Asked about the most challenging part about acting in the show, Robertson answered, "There were a lot of enjoyable times. But, the show requires a lot of emotional scenes. It was a challenge to prepare for those and execute them."

Robertson had previously acted in the romantic drama 'Marriage Story' with Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. So, did he find it tough to switch to a period piece? "No, not really. The characters are sort of alike. It wasn't too difficult to make the transition as they're both dealing with their own crises," he answered.

Asked if he enjoys history, Roberston said, "Yes and no, it was definitely interesting to learn what happened in the 1940s, as it is a period piece.

The cast of 'The Plot Against America' also features star-studded names such as Zoe Kazan and Morgan Spector. While Robertson enjoyed working with every actor, he seemed to have developed quite a bonding with Ryder. "Everyone was so great. Winona and I talked a lot about music and she gave me a Green Day shirt, which I thought was very kind," he revealed.

He also revealed that he established a strong bond with his on-screen brother Caleb Malis and said that They keep in touch regularly.

Asked about his future projects, Roberston remained tight-lipped, saying, "There's a show I'm doing. Sorry, I'm not allowed to say anything about it, but it is going to be pretty big.

'The Plot Against America' airs on HBO on Mondays at 9 pm.
