'Honey, please stop it': Azealia Banks trolled for ‘Beyonce makes bad house music’ diss

Beyonce’s ‘Break My Soul’ was first officially released on Tidal and an official lyric video later appeared on her YouTube channel

Azealia Banks, who has earlier made headlines for her beef with Cardi B and Elon Musk, took a dig at Beyonce over her new single ‘Break My Soul’. The Harlem rapper took to Instagram over the weekend claiming that Queen Bey did not sample but stole Robin S’ 90’s hit ‘Show Me Love’. For the unversed, Beyonce has given full credits to Robin as a songwriter.
 
Azealia Banks then suggested in the same post that the best way for Beyonce to repent was to share an update on Koi Knowles - the alleged sister and daughter of Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles. The 31-year-old rapper’s latest comments came days after she dubbed the mash-ups of Bey’s song with hers “horrible.” While social media users clowned Banks over her latest remarks, that did not stop the emcee from going on a rant via Instagram stories.

‘Beyonce just makes bad house music’

In another Instagram story, Banks claimed that Beyonce makes bad house music. She said that absolutely no one will think about Beyonce in the next 10 years. She then asked, “Did you just erase all the gay Black and Latino men who pioneered this genre to defend one of the worst flips of the ‘Show Me Love’ sample of all time?”
 
Beyonce has, so far, not reacted to Banks’ accusations. For the uninitiated, Robin S said that she was not contacted ahead of time. She did share a video thanking Beyonce and her team (including Jay-Z), saying, “Thank you so much for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive.” Beyonce’s new banger called ‘Break My Soul’ was first officially released on Tidal—a streaming platform owned by her rapper husband Jay Z. An official lyric video of the single later appeared on the Grammy-winning singer’s YouTube channel. Within minutes of ‘Break My Soul’ release, the song trended at the numero uno spot in the US and worldwide.

“Azealia banks is really mad because Beyoncé didn’t sample HER music”, said one user on Twitter as another trolled her, “Azealia Banks spiraling against Beyoncé over an unofficial quote from a C-List UK tabloid was not on my pride month bingo card…but here we are lmaooooooo.” One person added, “I don’t think Azealia and other Beyoncé haters understand that Robin S. didn’t write or produce that song… the fact that she’s even getting flowers is simply out of acknowledgment what she did with the song and courtesy.”

Someone tweeted, “Azealia always trying to get attention, but will get none from @Beyonce.” One user posted, “Guys remember, if you sample an artist, that is stealing even if you credit them. So, all your fav artists are in danger” adding a laughing emoticon in the end. One said, “Miss Azealia honey, please stop it. The amount of samples and interpolations that you’ve used on the Broke With Expensive Taste album are endless. Did we not forget that she put Mary J. Blige’s vocals from No More Drama in the interlude of the song Yung Rapunxel?” as another mentioned, “Oh please Beyoncé been sending legends flowers and how u steal something that sampled.”
