Awkwafina steps back into comedy following her role in the drama 'The Farewell' with 'Awkwafina is Nora from Queens', a chaotic and true-to-character comedy series coming to Comedy Central in 2020. Here's all you need to know about the hilarious star-studded cast and comedy series:

The comedy television series will debut on January 22, 2020.

Plot

'Awkwafina is Nora from Queens' is an autobiographical series loosely based on Awkwafina whose real name is Nora. The show chronicles her life as she lives with her dad and her grandmother who help her navigate her steps into adulthood in New York with her cousin.

Nora Lum has an impressive experience under her belt — Oscar-leaning dramas, comedies, SpongeBob movies, web series, and SNL episodes. Now, she has a Comedy Central series to add to this list.

Professionally known as Awkwafina, she is an American actress and rapper with roles in 'Ocean's 8', 'Crazy Rich Asians' (2018) and the lead role in 'The Farewell' (2019) along with appearances in 'Girl Code' and 'Future Man'. She has also released two albums called 'Yellow Ranger' (2014) and 'In Fina We Trust' (2018).

Other cast members include Lori Tan Chinn, BD Wong, Chrissie Fit, Erin Fogel, Chris Gethard and Kevin Rose.

The series is directed by Lucia Aniello, Natasha Lyonne and Steven K. Tsuchida with writing credits going to Awkwafina, Karey Dornetto and Teresa Hsiao. Producers include Awkwafina, Karey Dornetto, Teresa Hsiao and Peter Principato.

Natasha Lyonne is famously known for her role in 'Orange Is the New Black'.
