The stars of The CW's 'Arrow' have already shared their final farewells, but as the series aired its final episode, the fans took to social media to bid their goodbyes as well. It was an emotionally packed episode, saying farewell to an eight-season-long series that was responsible for the creation of the Arrowverse, and the many shows that the Arrowverse now encompasses. Over the course of the episode, the fans posted their goodbyes and thank-yous to the series that has been a part of their lives for so long.

"@StephenAmell, the man who literally gave birth to an era of superhero tv shows with a Bow and/as #Arrow by being #OliverQueen, a man who survived hell Island to the man who literally revived the multiverse. What a journey. The entire #Arrowverse fandom is taking a bow to you," posted a Twitter user.

One fan thanked the Original Team Arrow with this tweet: "You have triumphed this city. Congrats to the cast and crew of @CW_Arrow - @StephenAmell @david_ramsey and #EmilyBettRickards for starting it off and completing it tonight."

One user tweeted a picture of him in Arrow cosplay, along with a heartfelt tribute. "Thanks so much to you @mguggenheim, @AJKreisberg, @ARROWwriters, StephenAmell & entire #Arrow Team for making @Arrow and giving us wonderful 8 yrs with these amazing characters, telling so many great stories, making so many careers and touching so many lives."

The fans expressed their gratitude to everyone, including the cast, the writers and the stunt team. "It’s our last time seeing an incredible Arrow fight scene. Thank you to the stunt team for all of your hard work since Season 1," said a user.

One tweet acknowledged the Arrowverse that 'Arrow' created, "The show that gave birth to an entire universe comes to an end. An arrow that pointed the way for there to be a Flash, a Supergirl, a Black Lightning, a Batwoman and a ship full of Legends. With more coming in future, Thank You To the Green Arrow."

The show teased a lot of moments yet to come after its close, from John Diggle's (David Ramsey) discovery of the Green Lantern ring to Roy Harper's (Colton Haynes) proposal to Thea Queen (Willa Holland), with one user posting a live reaction of the proposal: "Dude I can’t imagine the anxiety Roy is experiencing rn waiting for a yes or no from Thea- WAIT AS IM TWEETING THIS SHE SAID YES WHAT DO I WEAR TO THE WEDDING?!!!"

Overall, fans were tearful and satisfied with this final tribue to Stephen Amell's iconic Oliver Queen. "They did it. I loved it. Well done, #Arrow. Thank you for eight seasons of entertainment, excitement and feels. And thank you for sticking the landing. #TheFinalBow," said a user.

The legacy of Oliver Queen and Star City will continue in the upcoming 'Green Arrow & the Canaries' if the series is picked up by The CW.
