Chanyeol rumors: #ApologizetoChanyeol trends as accusers who made false claims about EXO idol to be prosecuted

SM Entertainment announced on May 17 that they are taking legal action against those who spread false claims about EXO artist Chanyeol, and they will also be forwarded to prosecution for indictment. According to Soompi, they revealed, "we sued those who spread false rumors about Chanyeol, and as far as we know, the police have identified those who were accused and forwarded them to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.”

SM is not only taking action against people making false claims about Chanyeol but other artistes belonging to their group as well. They added, "This is just one of the cases of infringement on our artists’ rights, which the agency is consistently taking legal action for. We are taking legal action against the spread of false rumors, insult, and more regarding our artists, including Chanyeol.”

MBN Star is the local source of the news and they have claimed that the case is sent to Songchi Prosecution by the police. This is after Chanyeol had been embroiled in a controversy in October 2020 after a user online made a post claiming to be Chanyeol's girlfriend. At the time, SM had not made any comment and Chanyeol only indirectly alluded to the situation without ever clearing the air about any of the claims that were made online.

Then Chanyeol enlisted in the Army in March. However, with news of false accusers being sent to the protection for indictment, fans online are now saying #ApologizetoChanyeol. One user quoted a news story on Korean online portal Naver and said, "According to this article, the person that fabricated rumors against Chanyeol in 2020 was prosecuted & will answer for their wrongful actions. As we always knew, CY is innocent." Another user wrote, "I'm so happy that chanyeol is finally getting the justice he deserves. he never did anything wrong and he didn't deserve everything he went through because of those false rumors. APOLOGIZE TO CHANYEOL."

Another fan wrote, "EXO isn't just a music boy band They are the only angels in the world so If you do not want God to be angry with you, do not bother them." Another user said, "It's your day my boy !!❤Yellow heart And a big slap to all those who left you and didn't believe you. You all know better stay away from him. APOLOGIZE TO CHANYEOL." Another user said, "We need an apology from all fandoms that get a hit tweet using Chanyeol APOLOGIZE TO CHANYEOL."



 



 



 

Fans also attacked news sites such as Koreaboo and allkpop and wrote, "ALLKPOP and KOREABOO APOLOGIZE TO CHANYEOL." The support for the idol kept pouring in along the same lines and one fan wrote, "Chanyeol sweetie doesn’t deserve to live With this terrifying world. Every person who dared and wronged him must apologize immediately. APOLOGIZE TO CHANYEOL."
