What is the plot of 'An American in Austen'?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to date your favorite fictional hero or heroine? Well, Harriet need wonder no more because she actually went and did it. As part of Hallmark's incredibly popular 'Loveuary' month-long ode to Jane Austen, 'An American in Austen' sees the movie's star idolize her fictional hero and Jane Austen's curse on all real men, Mr Darcy. So when she finds herself in the pages of 'Pride & Prejudice' (suspend belief for a while, like you would in a Marvel movie) she gets to find out, first-hand, if Mr Darcy is all he's cracked up to be. Will truth be stranger than fiction? Or will her idealized version of the perfect man forever remain the figment of an iconic English author?

After a few years playing smaller roles in hit shows like 'Nanny McPhee' and 'Marple', English actress Eliza got her big break in the acclaimed TV series 'Broadchurch' in which she played Lisa Newbery. She followed that up with a stint in 'Strike Back' before landing the role of Julie Thomas in the lauded 'Sweet/Vicious', in which she starred opposite Taylor Dearden. After starring in 'The Conners', she got a major role in the reboot of 'Dynasty' in which she played Amanda Carrington. She blew critics away this year with her performance as Marjorie Kern in the TV series 'Sexy Beast' (a prequel to the classic 2000 film of the same name starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone).
