'AGT' Season 17: Here's who fans think were the top performers in Qualifier 2
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: The second live performance of the season of 'America's Got Talent' aired on Tuesday, August 16, with 11 fresh acts taking the stage to impress the judges and the live audience to progress to the finals. As we wait for the results on Wednesday, there are a few fan favorites that people simply can't get enough of.
'America's Got Talent' returned for its 17th season this summer, with Terry Crews reprising his hosting duties with Sofa Vergara, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell returning as judges. As in previous years, the winner will receive a $1 million cash prize and the opportunity to perform as a headliner act in Las Vegas. The judges picked 138 acts to progress to the competition in the preliminary round, but only 55 were chosen to perform in the Qualifiers. Among those 55 are the six the judges and Terry awarded the Golden Buzzer.

Yu Hojin
South Korea's Yu Hojin, the lone magician on stage today, was in a position to add awe and astonishment to the show that the other performers couldn't. He did something he'd never done before for this semi-final performance: some sleight of hand feats that featured household objects appearing and disappearing in fast succession. Klum stated that his technique is calm and delicate, to the point of becoming hypnotic. Vergara informed him that she now believed in magic and that it was better than his audition. Cowell came around to like Yu's magic this time, although he took credit for helping him improve after saying no at his audition. Mandel was captivated by the performance as well.

Soon after the performance, fans rushed to vote for their favorites and share their thoughts online. It looks like the magician is indeed in the running, as a fan tweeted: "Yu Hojin and Chapel Hearts, I downloaded the AGT app just for you! Wishing everyone good luck! #AGT #YuHojin #ChapelHearts." Another compliment read, "10. Yu Hojin - the magician pool this season kinda sucks. Except for him. They was a lot better than his audition and while I’m not personally a big fan of close up magic I really enjoyed it. #agt." A fan of Hojin's art gushed, "Yu Hojin doesn’t just do magic - it is art, grace and beauty!!" Another tweeted, "Yu Hojin left me completely speechless. That is not humanely possible. Not even Hermione Granger is this good #AGT."

Chapel Hart
Dolly Parton complimented Chapel Hart's audition of her iconic song 'Jolene,' and they went on to achieve number one on the charts. Tonight, they played another original song, confident in their chart performance and aware that they were a special Golden Buzzer selection. Their song was a stadium country rock romper with a rap verse, giving it a unique taste. Based on his liking of the original song, Cowell prophesied that things would go well for them and that they would have a successful career as fantastic singers with brilliant tunes. Vergara appreciates that they are "all about fun" and that they improved on an already excellent audition. Mandel referred to their performance as a "headline show," implying that they are already celebrities.

Asking more of their performance, a fan tweeted: "I LOVED THEM! What great FUN @ChapelHartBand bring to the stage! More More More! #AGT #AGTLiveShows #AGTwitter." Recounting their audition, a fan wrote: "My sister passed away in late July but we always watched AGT together and she got to see @ChapelHartBand sing on the show and she said " they are my fave and gonna make it BIG one way or the other " We both LOVE them so all ten of my votes went to them for both of us. #AGT." Calling them a winner already, another wrote: "Before Chapel Hart I had no clue where Poplarville, MS was. After Chapel Hart…I realized that Poplarville breeds winners cuz these ladies are gonna win the Whole Damn Thang!!!!" Complimenting the band on their originality, a fan tweeted: "I really like this Chapel Hart song, and it's super cool that they wrote and performed an original. They might go all the way! #AmericasGotTalent."
