'America's Got Talent' Season 15 auditions see some amazing singers and an 'eye-popping' rapper go through
As has become the norm with 'America's Got Talent', musical acts dominated the night with everyone from singers and rappers to dancers both wowing and horrifying the audience with their skills.
First up was singer Annie Jones with Tones and I's 'Dance Monkey'. "Wow what a voice," tweeted one viewer, "Wow this girl can sing and dance," said another, one person stated, "The young lady in the yellow was so cute and talented. Glad she made it through to the second round," and one viewer quipped, "Well alright "li' mama" ....Get the party started."
And she sure did, because the talented youngster delivered a powerful audition that had the audience dancing and hooting. "Wow. Annie got some good beat here," shared one viewer, "Love that song! Annie Jones is a great performer!" said another, and some stated, "Totally I was surprised Got some goosebumps."
Sofia Vergara, clearly enamored with the tiny singer clad in bright yellow, said she was "so confident" and added that Annie was born to sing. And with three yeses, she will continue to sing for at least a little while longer.
The next singer of the night was Shaquira McGrath, who is taking a break from her day job of serving food to pursue her dreams, declaring it was finally her time no matter what people might judge her for. And when she began singing it was evident she made the right choice, but almost no one was prepared for her choice to sing a country song.
"Wasn't expecting country lol but she good," tweeted one viewer, another said, "Okayyyy, Shaquira singing country, I see you gurl!! Sing it!!" and one viewer shared, "She definitely proved me wrong. I'm impressed." The singer has already earned some fans. "Hell Yeah," said one, another stated, "Sing it girl," one shared, "@AGT wow great voice," and one viewer tweeted "@SimonCowell I’m thinking of Jennifer Hudson..."
"Oh wow! Listen to that singing voice!" Not all viewers were excited, however, with one sharing, "NO NO NO! Enough with the singers!" and another stating, "Another singer. Whoop-di-do. Second one tonight," before adding, "She was a good singer tho. So sad that people with talent are scared because of their looks #dontjudgeonlooks."
Rapper Chef Boy Bonez went next, but a few seconds into his routine with the crowd bopping along, he popped his eyes out and the horrifying sight had the audience, judges, and viewers split down the middle.
Some quipped "That performance was eye-poppin!!" as well as "Just when you think we have seen it all, his eyes pop out!" while some were totally shocked, tweeting, "OMG I WAS NOT READY!!!!" Others, however, thought the act was straight out of a nightmare. :Ok.. I need to watch puppies or something so I can forget about this please!!!!!" said one viewer, "That was creepy in many levels specially his eyes," shared another, and one viewer tweeted, "No Eric, no!! I'm gonna have to watch a Disney movie after this to be able to fall asleep."
Sofia gave the act a no, later stating she didn't see where he could go from here and fans agreed, stating, "I agree how can Popeye get better?! Jeez." Others weren't too sure about his rapping, stating, "I'm not sure how good his rapping is, but he's definitely got a bit going" as well as "The guy was supposed to be a rapper. And he sucked at it. They put him thru bc of his eyeballs which was disgusting. Idk about #AGT," while others were total fans, stating, "Those are the acts that make me continued watch."
Despite the contrasting opinions, the rapper is going through to the next round. It should prove to be interesting to see what Bonez will bring to the competition here on out. Closing out the musical acts of the night was Jesse Kramer who wowed with a rock version of Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance'. While the judges all agreed that Kramer's voice and style was top-notch, overall they didn't think his risky song choice paid off, with Howie Mandel calling it "boring."
"I sorta know that #LadyGaga song. But he didn't help me remember it exactly," tweeted one fan in agreement. But many viewers loved the act, tweeting, "Jesse Kramer...is good. Like really good. He is a rockstar in our hearts!!" as well as "That cover of @ladygaga’s Bad Romance tho!" One person also shared, "Wow who’s feeling the soul on this act on @AGT." With four yeses, Kramer will go on in the competition, hopefully with more exciting songs that truly showcase his skills.
There was one final musical act to grace the stage in this episode: Serban Cioca singing his original song, 'Conga Bonga'. As one viewer asked, "He came all the way from Romania to this?"
Unfortunately, Cioca's performance was underwhelming, which is terribly sad considering he was the happiest, most cheerful person to grace the stage throughout the night. "Conga , bonga, la, la, la.... I like him but not the song or singing of the song. Sad... @AGT," tweeted one viewer. But, nonetheless, he still brought joy to the world. As one viewer shared, "Everyone will remember the 'Conga Bonga'."
