'American Ninja Warrior' is easily one of the thrilling and high-intensity reality shows there has ever been. The NBC show tests strength, agility, and endurance via obstacle courses that are designed for athletes as well as amateurs. Much like last year, this season too has been filmed keeping the pandemic in mind. This means, there will probably be no on-set audience. Season 12 winner Daniel Gil told MEAWW how not having a crowd was quite the dampener.

"For the production crew for, for everyone involved and at the end of the day we all had the same goals and that was to make this season happened to do whatever could, whatever needed to be done to have a season this year, so you know, we applied to everything," the champ shared and added that it was the first time he hadn't traveled with his wife.

Plot

Previously, the showrunners had tweaked the format a bit that allowed ninjas a shot at earning bonus points. The contestants were clubbed to form teams of three. "The new season will feature more than 400 competitors and, for the first time in 'ANW' history, the age limit to compete is being lowered to 15 years old," a press release read. The winner walks away with a whopping $1 million prize.

Cast

Flip Rodriquez, Joe Moravsky, Meagan Martin, Jesse Labreck, Najee Richardson, and other veteran ninjas have confirmed their return. While the full roster is expected to be out anytime soon, Jessie Graff has shared why she won't be competing this year. In Season 12, she suffered a serious injury and has since been in recovery. Meanwhile, Akbar  Gbajabiamila, Matt Iseman, and Zuri Hall will resume hosting duties.
