LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kaibrienne Richin's performance on 'American Idol' Season 22 stirred up some controversy among fans. While the judges praised her for her daring rendition of 'I Hate Myself for Loving You,' some viewers took to social media to express their disappointment. They criticized her performance, comparing it to a karaoke performance rather than a professional one. Luke praised Kaibrienne's performance, saying it felt like being at a real concert because of her energy. He loved how she transformed into a different kind of performer for the song. Katy complimented Gene for connecting with everyone, hinting that Kaibrienne's performance was captivating.

Furthermore, Lionel liked the emotion Kaibrienne conveyed, especially through her facial expressions, calling them "ugly face" in a good way, meaning she really got into the song's feelings. Overall, the judges loved how Kaibrienne embraced the rock vibe and delivered a powerful performance.

Kairbrienne Richins performs new genre for Rock and Roll night 

Kaibrienne tried something new by singing 'I Hate Myself for Loving You' by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. She mentioned that she usually sticks to ballads, so this was a fresh experience for her. Despite her initial hesitation, Gene Simmons encouraged her to take the plunge and give it her all.

"I've really just done ballads so this is really new for me," KB said, adding how Gene Simmons encouraged her to go for it. However, Kaibrienne's daring performance paid off as she secured her spot in the top 12 of the competition. Her ability to step out of her comfort zone and deliver a captivating performance impressed both the judges and the audience, ultimately earning her a coveted place among the top contestants.

American Idol' Season 22 airs on Sundays and Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
