'American Idol' Season 18 Top 20: Just Sam stuns with Fantasia's 'I Believe', fans call it the best performance

'American Idol' Season 18 returned for an all-new episode on Sunday night. The series created history as it aired from 25 different locations across the country. The Top 20 contestants performed from their homes. Judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry also shared their critiques from their own homes. While host Ryan Seacrest and in-house mentor Bobby Bones also appeared.
This week, the Top 20 contestants battled it out against each other for America's vote. The contestants with the highest number of votes will advance to the Top 10. While it's going to be a tight competition as all the contestants gave their best, fans are sure one contestant has a spot saved for her in the Top 10. Sam has stunned judges and fans with her impeccable voice right from the start of the competition.
Tonight, she decided to take it up a notch and perform former Idol contestant, Fantasia's 'I Believe'. The passion in her voice didn't go unnoticed and the judges were excited to see Sam excel. Post her performance, Luke complimented the way she has grown throughout this competition. Lionel said she is inspirational. "I love you guys so so much,” Sam told the judges as she broke down. She even made Lionel emotional.
Taking to Twitter after her performance, fans on Twitter affirmed that this was her best performance so far. "Her voice is amazing for just sam tonight. It was the best #Americanidol," a fan shared.
"YES Just Sam YES singing Fantasia's coronation song. Where's the confetti? #AmericanIdol," a fan wrote. While another added, "Awww, @CoJustsam is singing one of my fav songs from Fantasia. That was the winning song. I just love LOVE love you SAM."
"I'd have to say Just Sam is one of the few natural beauties we have seen tonight. #AmericanIdol," a fan said. Adding to that another fan shared, "If Just Sam doesn’t make it through I’m suing. #AmericanIdol."
"Just Sam is already a winner in my book! I adore her so much! #americanidol," a fan wrote.
