'American Idol' Season 18 Top 20: Jonny West blows fans away with his rendition of 'What a Wonderful World'

Fans absolutely loved his song choice and vocals and said they wouldn't be surprised if he wins the show

Jonny West closed this week's episode of 'American Idol' Season 18 with a stunning rendition to Louis Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World' and fan are in love with his performance. 

'American Idol' Season 18 returned on Sunday night for its first-ever remote edition. Airing from 25 different locations across the country, the Top 20 contestants, judges — Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry — host Ryan Seacrest and in house mentor Bobby Bones all appeared from the comfort of their own homes. This week, the Top 20 contestants battled it out against each other for a chance to advance to the Top 10.

America will get to vote for their favorite contestant. Each fan can cast 10 votes per contestant. You can cast your vote via the phone app, website or by texting the contestant's number to 21523. Next week when the series returns, the contestants will be whittled down to 10, depending on the votes. 

We witnessed a number of flawless performances tonight and one amongst them was from Jonny West, who closed this week's episode with an amazing performance of 'What a Wonderful World'. He put his own twist to the song by switching the melody in places and increasing the bass. It was, indeed, a real good performance. Luke said Jonny could take his career wherever he wants while Lionel shared that Jonny has it all. 

Taking to Twitter post his performance, fans on Twitter backed his song choice and showed their love for his vocals. "Jonny is so dang good! And this song choice!! Wow," a fan shared. While another added, "Another amazing performance by jonny west, He is incredible tonight #Americanidol." 

"I wouldn't be surprised if Jonny wins, it's just something about him. #AmericanIdol," a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "That's how you end a show folks!!! Jonny West is the TRUTH!! #AmericanIdol." 

"one of my all time favorite songs!!! You did it great justice! Love it Jonny!!!! You rock!!!" a fan said. Another fan added, "Jonny is fantastic. Flawless singing. #AmericanIdol." 

"@ohJonnyWest #AmericanIdol Jonny, Jonny! Thank you for that sweet rendition! We want to hear you. Remember that! Annie," a fan wrote.
