With just one performance on the series so far, Tran already has fans cheering for her kicka** voice. Her performance of Jennifer Hudson's 'One Night Only' left the judges floored. Tran received a standing ovation from judges and even got compared to likes of Kelly Clarkson. After watching her take the premiere by storm with her performance, viewers have taken a fond liking toward Tran and her voice. So, who is Myra Tran and why do fans love her?
Tran is a 19-year-old contestant in the new season of 'American Idol.' She moved to the U.S. a year ago to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Currently in high school, Tran revealed she is in the school choir.

But 'American Idol' isn't the first reality TV competition Tran has appeared in. Previously, when she was back in Vietnam, Tran participated in season 2 of 'The X-Factor Vietnam,' where she won the competition aged 16. While Tran dreams of becoming a famous singer, according to Bustle, she was, previously, not supported by her parents.
The publication revealed she had to study and listen to American music without anyone knowing. She was recognized for her talent when someone heard her singing in her school bathroom. That is when her parents began to support her passion, which has now led her to the 'American Idol' stage.
When it comes to winning, Tran is definitely among the hopefuls with a high chance of claiming this season's title. With a voice so powerful, she is one to look out for. Though there are more auditions to come, it is safe to say Tran is safe for now.
Her fierce voice and power packed notes have not only gotten the judges to appreciate her, but also gotten Tran fans who are rooting for her. "She is convincingly a force to be reckoned with. Could be the first foreigner (Vietnamese) to win #AmericanIdol ..." said a fan. While another added, "She's the first contestant I had to rewind to watch her performance again. What a voice! Loved Myra!"
