This article contains spoilers for season 9, episode 2.

Cody Fern just said the word 'daddy' on American Horror Story: 1984's second episode and fans can't keep calm about it.

Fern, who plays the role of Xavier Plympton on the anthology horror's ninth slasher season first joined Ryan Murphy's crazy brainchild in season 8, 'Apocalypse'. Ever since he rose to iconic fan following with fans all over the globe labeling him a queer icon they just can't get enough of. But now, Fern has taken things up by a couple of notches or more, by explicitly saying the word 'daddy' on primetime TV.

Turns out, his character on the show, Xavier, has done some gay porn in the past to get by, thus acquiring a pimp of sorts, who is basically his sugar daddy. The man drives up to Camp Redwood where Xavier is counseling for the time and ambushes him, trying to blackmail him into doing another porn movie. And before the conversation begins, Xavier is sternly reminded by the man that his "boys" don't get to call him by his name, to which Xavier, ever so coyly replies, by calling him 'daddy' - something that has left fans open-mouthed.

Twitter use @GrapeGarrett pointing out: "So we just gonna ignore Cody Fern calling Blake dADDY???!???" but there was no ignoring happening, everybody took plenty notice of Fern seductively saying the word 'daddy', and the reaction on social media has been within the range of bizarre to absolutely mental. Another fan @littlenightmaws very honestly shared "hearing Cody say “daddy” gave me shivers."

Sadly, looks like this was both the first and the last time we heard Xavier (Fern, more like) saying the word daddy in a sexual way because 'daddy' Blake - the pimp who was forcing Xavier to film another gay porn was executed fairly well by this season's main villain and escaped psychopath murderer Mr. Jingles.

'American Horror Story: 1984' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm, only on FX.
