LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As Hunter Biden walked into court for tax evasion, Kevin McCarthy, who is the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, talked about an alleged Biden bribery scheme, which became a part of the Hot Topics segment on ‘The View’. As the 2024 presidential race nears, politics is often a hot topic on the talk show, with each co-host prepared for the conflict it brings.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is loyal to the republican party and previously worked for Trump, had much to say about Hunter. However, viewers noticed that Griffin’s co-hosts kept interrupting her during the segment, never letting her finish what she had to say.

Griffin interrupted three times

‘The View’ played the clip of McCarthy before they dived into a discussion about Biden’s appearance at court. After a lengthy discussion between Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Joy Behar, Griffin finally had a chance to speak about Hunter. Evidently, her name tag didn’t come in until quite late into the segment but she waited her turn. Griffin said, “I think Hunter Biden is fifty shades of shady, we know he’s dealt with addiction, I do not fault him for that. There are definitely examples of influence peddling, of making money off of his name, that happens in politics, it doesn’t make it okay though, and I think…” Before Griffin could finish her statement, she was rudely interrupted by Goldberg. Later in the segment, Griffin was also interrupted by Haines and Hostin.

‘Let Alyssa speak’

Viewers couldn’t help but point out this repeated behavior as they took to the comment section of the ten-minute-long YouTube clip of the segment. One person commented, “I wish they specifically Whoopi, Joy, and Sunny would let Alyssa finish making her full point sometimes.” Another infuriated viewer said, “LET ASYSSA SPEAK !!! BRUH AM A DEMOCRAT AND I FIND THAT BEHAVIOUR INFURIATIG. SHE'S GOT A POINT. WHOOPI, PLEASE.” Griffin’s fans have also urged her to continue speaking as one commented, “Yes Alyssa!! Doing fab! Keep going, make your points respectfully as you do but plough through the immediate interruptions!”

Viewers focussed especially on Goldberg, who interrupted Griffin a few times, “Whoopi needs to go! She never lets people finish speaking!” Another pointed out that this could potentially be a Trump versus Biden bias as they said, “Moderators should let their fellow panelists finish their points uninterrupted. Notice that Whoopi kept quiet when Alyssa highlighted the Orange’s faults but when she brings up the Biden’s, she couldn’t help herself but interrupt.” Nevertheless, Griffin’s fans and viewers are truly let down as they claimed the co-host isn’t allowed to speak like the others, “Of course Alyssa isn’t allowed to speak the way the other ones do… except Sarah. I’m glad she also has a voice.” Along similar lines, another fan also pointed out, “I wish Whoopie and the others would let Alyssa speak like they do the rest of the cast. It's the View, and they make her work harder to get her view out. It's important.”
