'Almost Family' Season 1 Episode 4 preview: Edie's dilemma and her relationship status with Tim has fans worried about her next move
Spoilers ahead for season 1 episode 4 'Fake AF' of 'Almost Family'
In the preview for the upcoming episode 'Fake AF' of 'Almost Family', Edie (Megalyn Echikunwoke) is seen telling Julia (Brittany Snow) that her husband Tim (Mo McRae) is hoping to expand their family and have babies. But this is not something she expected. When the series started, Edie was shown to have some intimacy troubles with her husband. As the series progressed, she developed an affair with Amanda Doherty (Victoria Cartagena).
There is more than one thing that deems this affair problematic. Firstly, it is an affair. Secondly, Edie is having an affair with a woman, which points to her having issues with coming to terms with her sexuality and explains the intimacy issues she has been facing with Tim. Thirdly, and perhaps the one pointer that makes it all worse is that Amanda is the attorney prosecuting Dr Leon Bechley (Timothy Hutton) while Edie is defending him.
Now in the promo, she is telling Julia that Tim wants to have kids, but it is evident that she is very uncertain about what she wants. And this is not only in regard to the baby but also her life.
Edie had also recently made the discovery that the life-changing scholarship she so prided herself on winning was one she in fact never won; it was Dr Bechley who paid for it. This, in addition to the already existing turmoil in her mind, is only setting the stage for a convoluted plotline. But that said, despite her fondness for her husband Tim, Edie might be a lesbian. And while fans are ready to be patient with her character arc with respect to her sexuality specifically, they want her to realize that cheating is a big no.
"I get it her whole life has been taken ripped and shredded. I do believe however that she is lesbian. Despite her affections for her husband. They were having trouble long before daddy Bechly issues. I say all this to say that it’s going to be interesting to see what happens. Also, she needs to figure it out cheating is a NO. And in a way, taints the attraction she has with the other DA," pointed out a fan.
And fans are hoping that Edie sorts out her issues at least by the time the season ends. "Edie, girl. I’m gonna need you to have made a decision by the end of the season," said a fan.
'Almost Family' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm ET/PT.
