To imagine waking up one day and discovering that zombies have taken over it seems impossible. But the upcoming horror flick '#Alive' is quite literally bringing that nightmare to life. Set during a zombie apocalypse, '#Alive' revolves around a gamer's struggle for survival as he is forced to stay alone in his flat. He even has to confront the zombies trying to break in. Will he manage to survive?

Trust the South Korean industry to make nail-biting horror productions. 'Train to Busan' became a highly popular film praised by critics and also audiences. It eventually earned more than $92 million internationally. Its sequel, 'Peninsula', is also soon to arrive. '#Alive' is likely to be a great addition to their list of noteworthy horrors.

Release date

'#Alive' will arrive on Netflix worldwide on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Plot 

According to the official synopsis of the movie, "Joon-Woo (Yoo Ah-In) and Yoo-Bin (Park Shin-Hye) struggle to survive in an isolated apartment complex from those infected with the virus. Everything, including the Internet, phone and electricity has been disconnected around the apartment."

As Oh Joon-Woo, Yoo plays the role of a gamer who struggles to survive a zombie outbreak. After finding out that his family has been hunted down by the zombies and eventually killed, he tries to hang himself but finds hope in another survivor, Yoo-Bin.

Kim Yoo-Bin is a mysterious lady who helps Joon-woo survive his attempt at ending his life. Played by, Park Shin-Hye, she has frequently killed zombies who trespass her house using her hand ax and booby-trapped door.

Apart from the protagonists, the movie also stars Lee Hyun-Wook as an infected tenant, Lee Sang-Chul, Oh Hye-Won as a policewoman killed by the infected zombies, Jeon Bae-Soo as a masked man who saved Joon-Woo and Yoo-Bin and Lee Chae-Kyung as the zombified wife of the masked man. 

Creators 

'#Alive' is directed by Cho Il-Hyung and is based on Matt Naylor's 2019 script titled 'Alone'.

The trailer shows one of the film's protagonists running from fear-inducing living corpses in a catastrophe ridden city.
